Amazing set to have. I own the complete series on VHS for collectors sake. Funny to compare a 30 VHS tape set to a 20 disc set and see the size comparison.

Nice! I just bought this set from Amazon for $53 plus tax. I have the dvd set that came in the hard plastic cases from 2006 still in unopened but I wanted a set that would have a better picture image. This was a great informative video thank you!!!

I’ve got a question for this box set. From what I can remember, previous releases of Star Trek the Original Series on Blu Ray let you switch between the original special effects of the Enterprise in Space and the updated CGI shots of the Enterprise. Is that option included in this Blu Ray Steelbook release?

Probably in a delay, but yes! i have the set myself and it does have this option.

Basically it's the same set as the first time TOS was released to Blu-Ray just a new packaging.

Thanks for sharing this. I checked the Amazon link, but I cannot “see” anything indicating that it has Audio Description for the blind. Is it marked on the cover? I have not been able to re-watch the original Star Trek since I’ve gone blind.

I don’t know that these guys are the authority on Trek titles, but they do seem to have pretty thorough listings. Here’s a link to the Audio Description Project’s list of US DVDs and Blu-rays: adp.acb.org/dvdsalpha.html#S. They don’t list this set, so I’m not very hopeful

Also I checked Paramount+ and there’s no audio descriptive of The Original Series, so my suspicion is that it’s not available. Sorry I couldn’t help 😬

Yup! They’re exactly the same as other steel books I have. I was surprised they did multiple discs on a single spindle but it works

It has different disc artwork but others identical picture and sound. A shame since I wish they would release it with the superior AVC codec instead of the dated VC-1. If not a 4K UHD they should at the very least upgrade the compression. At least this isn't the case similar to the disaster of the 2009 film blurays with awful, DNR transfers.

I love this box set, really love it but i don't like the way they are stored in. Too easy to scratch the discs :(

Wow Alison you really got it all(Love that phaser you keep handy!).Your Husband must work very hard to keep you happy with such a great collection.Im sure he fights honorably against Federation forces about the galaxy to keep his demanding wife with all the best collectables gold pressed latinum can buy and pillages and loots to make ends meet.Its always heart warming to see what a Warrier will do to keep his KLINGON Wife and Family happy and makes a lowely human like me envious of your life on KRONOS!
