Just ordered a copy of this and Hungarian Rhapsody. I’m excited to clip for hours and then probably be too intimidated to play it :)

MMP are definitely stepping up their production game, it's great to see! Those little additions make a huge difference.

I would think the blank paper is there to separate collated packs of materials. When encountered, the human or machine which packs the boxes just puts that in the box as well since easier than shifting position to recycle it

Oh yes, the small breakdown displays, I remenber before, I hand draw small sheets in A6 just like these, for Korea and co. Nice. Thanks for the video. My copy arrived today acording the post service, can't wait to open it after work!

I hate unboxing videos, but this one was excellent, because it was like a mini review of the game. Thanks for this. Fantastic.

Looks like there is a lot of game in that box Hope you do some video on the scorpions in the bottle scenario that would be good to see Did you ever sort out your other mmp pre-orders ?

Stay tuned on Scorpions content. Still pondering the preorder thing. Soothing noises were made, however.

I think it's unfortunate about the Dean Essig-map OCS art style (especially the early ACW ones from Gamers), but I guess it's too late at this point to change. Personally I prefer the GMT Typhoon/Barbarossa and also the Napoleonic OSG styles myself.

I've made no secret of considering (say) the CWB maps to be mostly ghastly. But the newish OCS and LOB maps I find unobjectionable at worst. Although certainly they have their idiosyncrasies.

Still waiting for my pre-order. Never played OCS, but the Scorpions in a Bottle scenario convinced me to pre-order. Thank you for the great content.

I’ve not played it, but would Smolensk be good for you as well, it’s a one mapper.

@@WARdROBEPlaysWWII Thank you for the suggestion. I may pick it up. But, I have traveled extensively in Ukraine, so The Third Winter does appeal to me. I hope the introductory scenario will get me up to speed. Either way I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into OCS.

I can vouch for Smolensk; it is excellent and also quite managable.

looks like a complete package thank you

hi ard thanks for this unboxing, especially the "ocs insider" comments i would prefer Ukraine '43 (2nd ed) but that game has a bit of inexplicable errata so maybe Third Winter is the way for me to go for this gigantic campaign thanks, ken

I'd like to see a new edition of Ukraine '43. I think that Simonitch system is a very good light and higher-scale alternative to OCS.

Personally, I don't give a shit about the cost. Give me top shelf components.
@ardwulfslair3 жыл бұрын
I was pleased with the improvement in component quality with Hungarian Rhapsody and this is another step up. I can tell considerable thought is going into this; OCS has resisted off-map displays for years.

I think OCS (and GOSS) would benefit from more items like Scorpions.
@ardwulfslair3 жыл бұрын
Stay tuned on that for GOSS; Hannut is supposed to be out this year.

Map is a very important component. I don't like that map, look cheap
@ardwulfslair3 жыл бұрын
Some folks don't like that art style, as I mentioned. But there's nothing particularly cheap about it.
