5 days after Eddie died, I was changing my strings, and had a live VH concert on the TV, and thats when it finally hit me, I burst into tears for about 20 minutes. I suddenly realized that the fact that, at 51 yrs old, NOT only, was THEE CONSTANT in my lifetime as far as being THEE GUY, who inspired me to pick up the guitar in 1986 as a junior in high school, ....but that, that very decision sparked a lifetime of music, bands, bandmates, gigs, adventures, meeting people and going places and doing things that I otherwise would have never experienced, had it not been for Eddie Van Halen! Today I play and sing in a THREE PIECE Alice in Chains tribute band, that keeps me engaged in music, playing shows, and enjoying the comraderie and fulfillment of being in a band. It was that day, after changing my strings, I decided to start learning Eruption! 2 years later, and I can play it pretty damn good! It CANNOT be overstated how much Eddie means to me, and what influence, and effect, Eddie had on my life! Rip Eddie, ...the VERY GREATEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER!

Metal Dad, im a 45 year old drummer, and love watching your vids. I think sometimes we think that once you get to a certain age, kids, jobs, obligations and responsibilities mean you have to “grow up” and put the music down, but you inspire me so much in knowing that if the love and fire is still there to play, no matter if it’s in front of 1 person, 1 million people or no one. I still have so much fun and excitement when I play. Watching you open this guitar was amazing for me, I can relate to owning a beautiful, well made and crafted instrument. Rock on!!🤟🏻

@@kidwave1 Dude, I at 57 have the exact same feelings. You made me cry bro. At 15 years old my first concert was the Fair Warning tour..baaam, all you said, “LIFE CHANGED INSTANTLY “. The life long lesson that was to come after that is immeasurable . So much of it not even musically related. I’ve learned determination, persistence, the value of band mates and friendships. I wept for a week after Eddie’s passing and I too can not say in words what he meant to me even though I never knew him personally. There are millions of us that have the same or similar story that he touched to the core of our souls. God bless EDWARD VAN HALEN 🙏🏼

I have the ivory, and it is phenomenal. I used to own two EVH EBMM and a Peavey Wolfgang Standard, but had to sell them years ago. Buying the Wolfgang USA helped to fill that void. Just a solid, amazing guitar. It plays with ease, and sounds absolutely incredible. Congratulations! I hope it brings you as much joy as mine does!

YOU, my friend, truly deserve this magical instrument! Your enthusiasm and appreciation for this monumental guitar is totally contagious! Good call about the "tone knob"! In my humble opinion, it has a Jimi-esc lead tone when you roll it back! Being close in age and close in past careers, (I doubt if you remember, but I was in a band in the 80's & 90's who played up & down the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and surrounding area and when the "grunge" thing wiped out the possibility of a record deal, ended up as an A2 and one time fill in guitar tech of Prince for all people in Vegas for years) I just LOVE your channel! And the way that your daughter got you into the channel and your closeness with her is just icing on the cake! God bless ya for being a good dad! Keep the faith and keep fighting the good Rock-N-Roll fight! God bless and take care...

I've been a casual viewer of your content for a while - but your heartfelt monologue at the end has made me hit the little buttons. 😁 Being a bit over 50 myself, I 100% agree with your mission to share the joy of (metal) music. Although, having picked the guitar up again during lockdowns, it's more like sharing the annoyance of metal music with the kids - at least until I get a lot better. Can't wait to see you and "Ed" in full flight on the 26th.

Congratulations on your new guitar Metal Dad ! 🤩 A while back I also bought a new EVH Wolfgang Special "Black Stealth" with the ebony fingerboard (the made in Mexico version) without the red-button , but has everything else included. It is an amazing guitar. Quality build for only 800 euros/dollars ! The black matte-color does look great, but sometimes leaves some fingerprints, but I do not mind it one bit - Its being "Relic" ! lol No need for any other guitar, this thing can do everything and has an amazing range of tones. You can play jazz, Prince style funk, 1950´s rock, heavy metal, screaming 1980s solo riffs and so much more ! I also use it to play those iconic U2 songs and Pink Floyd solos! These EVH Humbuckers can handle any tone and all types of music. Eddie Van Halen was a Master and a tone chaser and this guitar is his crowning achievement. Well Worth every penny you spend on it !

Speaking as your Elder, I'm 59, and I love your channel, you are bringing back great memories and keeping what I think is the greatest music ever. I had a Jackson back in 88 loved it stopped playing due to work and no time I bought another Jackson last year getting back into playing have you tried the EVH 5150 overdrive pedal and how are the EVH pedals you have and to this day I still remember when Eruption hit the radio for the first time everyone was talking about rock was very popular back then, and I will be watching your Tribute to Eddie. I wish Randy wouldn't have passed so soon, there was a competition going on anyway, very happy for you and friends don't let friends listen to rap it's not music.
