Honestly, I'm one of those people who actually prefer head removal via unscrewing or slider, as ball joints just worry me (especially if the plastic isn't absolutely perfect, as several of my copies of Kingdom Rattrap have attested).

That transformation broke my brain a little the moment I realised the feet were hiding the front of the car. Clever stuff. I'm used to the odd fake out part but they way this guy pulled it off was crazy.

Interesting note about this figure, but a later release that I got ditches the foam for a plastic shell and also replaces the blue eyed head with yellow.

There's a KO version of this toy. CE 01 Bumblebee I believe. The differences are in size and materials. The other has die cast parts, especially the joints

In alt mode this figure looks like its alive, a scaled down Beetle. While the official Masterpiece figure looks a cheap plastic toy. If i cared for absolutely HAVE to have a transforming movie Bumblebee, i would proably buy this version. But ive already got 3As version together with Blitzwing, so i have to settle with marvel at its beauty through your review.

I have a copy from the 3rd release and honestly, it feels pretty solid. The plastic does not feel fragile at all. The shoulder joints were extremely tight though, so tight to the point that I thought they didn't actually move until I tried to convert it into alt mode. Purchased some solicone oil used for RC car kits, and it worked like magic. I've transformed mine quite a bit with no issues. Probably just have to be real careful.

@@geomango20 it’s not the plastic itself to worry about, it’s the joints and pins. The figures pins are too large for the holes they go into and it was never fixed. So it really is a matter of when rather than if.

@@octobotimus I believe the plastic quality counts too, since many of the joints are made of plastic. I've seen breakage photos, and most of them are on the shoulder "butterfly joints", the neck area, and the hip joints. All those parts are made of plastic and anchored with metal pins. If lubed correctly, the figure is great. But I do agree with you that those parts should have been assessed thoroughly in the first place before distribution.

@@geomango20 mine broke right out of the box. Not sure what to do with it. Sucks as the figure looks great, but I never got to even transform him.
