@@Chyrosran22 Do you have an opinion on right side vs left side numpads? Right side numpads always get in the way of my mouse so that I need to put my mouse in front of the keyboard to prevent shoulder pain from reaching over so far. I also can't press tab with the same hand I enter numbers with. I believe right side numpads are a hold over from the pre mouse days and that they make so much more sense on the left (for right handed people). None of my peers seem to agree though :(

@@merlin9702 The correct order is keyboard - mouse - numpad. Makes so much sense. This reminds me of Ducky's old "Pocket Mechanical Numpad" that came with a calculator and display as this one does. That one used a button cell to allow you to use the calculator when unplugged from the computer, which was not as convenient. But it was always a unique (and expensive) piece of tech that, admittedly, very few people cared about, at a time when everybody had full size keyboards on their desks. I believe 8BitDo will do much better with this one on today's market flooded with SFF keyboards... And these also sound incredibly nice!!!

Are there magnets that let you align the keypad to the left side of the keyboard? If not, pairing them still does achieve something I've been looking for for a while. Having a keypad I can swap from the left to the right of my keyboard is something I've been looking for in a keyboard + detached keypad, and the closest thing was an ASUS ROG keyboard that you could slide the keypad onto either side with rails, but it missed the part I wanted where it would work wirelessly when detached.

The stick with the c64 keyboard shouldn't be analog but a digital microswitch stick like those used in the arcades and consoles before the invention of the d-pad (and many microcomputers like the Commodore 64 itself), it should essentially be a 4-button macro-pad that allows to press two at the same time for the diagonals. Hey chyros how do clickbars like Box Jades and Box Whites v2 compare to capacitive buckling springs on the Model F? I was wondering if I should deal hunt for an F AT or just go for a new custom board with a roomy plastic case like the 8Bitdo keyboard or the NCR80.
@Chyrosran224 ай бұрын
They're really quite different, on almost every level, really. They don't even actuate by the same physical phenomenon. Jades are waaay more tactile, whites probably not as much. They feel just quite different in general, though. Sound-wise it's not as clear-cut for everyone, but personally, in terms of keyfeel, I consider cap buck springs to be in my top 3 switches of all time.
@agrisimfarming4 ай бұрын
@@Chyrosran22 I am probably going to go with jades because I got a Model F switch tester and they are less tactile than I prefer. (Coming from someone using SKCM whites) It also helps I can get a board with them for much cheaper (The NCR80 is on sale for $75 with included jade switches) I can definitely see why you like buckling springs though, they are extremely smooth and perfectly weighted, and have a nice crisp tactility. I just happen to be heavy handed and they feel linear when typing at speed. (at least I think they would be, I only have one switch)
@Chyrosran224 ай бұрын
