Two fantastic books. Congrats! The interior pages of that Batman #3 look crisp and white. The More Fun #74 looks like a resubmit candidate. I would crack the slab and send the book in raw. I bet you’d have a better chance of scoring a higher grade that way. You and I have very similar taste in books. I didn’t know that you’re based out of NOVA. I’m a native. Thanks for sharing, Ryan.

I bid on that More Fun 74… glad it found its way into good hands, it’s really an awesome looking copy and one that IMO still has room to grow. At the very least it paved the way for me to pickup another big GA first appearance so I can’t be too upset! Congrats again

Wow. I had no idea that Daisy BB guns were manufactured in Plymouth, MI. That would be a 1/2 hour drive west on Plymouth road from my house. I could have rode my Schwin after I finished my paper route after delivering the Free Press!

Would you consider getting some extensive restoration on that #3? If it is going to come back purple label anyway, maybe get it looking as good as possible with a higher purple grade. Just food for thought. That Fun book is screaming to be resubmitted.

If it’s just missing pages, it’ll come back Blue/universal. It’s just a possibility it could come back purple given the age (so much can happen to a book in 80 years). But I don’t think I’d consider extensive restoration. It’s really expensive to get that kind of work done.

Batman was quarterly at this point and detective comics was monthly. So there isn’t a direct comparison. But it was approximately detective comics 44.

I can help you out here, as I have this issue and opened it to check it out for you. On the page following the end of the 2nd story of 4 stories in this issue, there is a full-page ad for Detective Comics # 46, which it said was on the newstands at the time of publication of this issue of Batman.

It’s something I do on the side. I do make an income from buying/selling books though that I have to pay taxes and all that fun stuff from.
