If your table pulls apart for a leaf, you could probably pull the table apart and use the interior straight edge of the table for the mill.

I have that SAME one! I have the electric Nutri Mill, but I got the manual a few years ago for Christmas. I was so excited, if the power is out I still needed to be able to grind my grains for flour. Nancy that was an great gift!

And you have 12 hands to help crank it .......some of my fondest memories of my childhood was cranking the old hand cranked ice cream churn, or the old hand crank meat grinder helping mama make hamburger from the cow we raised and processed....we never thought of it as work ...

That was my husband's idea too. It is a real workout to grind wheat kernels by hand!! Add a manual dough mixer to the process and you can cancel the gym membership!!! :)

It's definitely a good workout Mill. Remember the pictures of the water wheels next to a river or rushing brook? Those were grain Mills back in the day before electricity. Lovely gift for making homemade bread with all the germ.

Thank you for that review. Seeing the young ladies use the grinder gave me a better idea of how difficult it would be for me to use it. I think I should go with an electric grinder/mill.

Hey, just wanted to let you know, in case you haven't already figured out. I have this exact one, and this is a wet mill. It is not efficient for grinding wheat into flour, but its wonderful for grinding nixtamalized corn into masa for corn tortillas or making peanut butter!

Grind twice to three times. Also you can screw it down to the cabinet top and that makes it more sturdy also

Such a thoughtful gift and a good arm workout too! Lol! I feel your frustration on the laminate countertops, I have the same issue with my food mill fitting on mine! I have to do it on my kitchen table, which means removing the junk off the table and taking off the table cloth bc it gets messy, it’s annoying!

I just got this one and looking for videos on how to use it I came across this video. I ran my grain thru 6-7 times.

Thanks for sharing! Now that we’ve used it more this mill seems best for coarser grains, like corn. It needs run through too many times to be practical for making flour for baking

How exciting! I am sure you will make good use of the mill, and Sam may have to be appointed head flour miller with his muscles. I am sure the finished product will be very tasty and definitely a healthier choice.

I’d like an update because that’s exactly what I was trying to find out is how fine could you get it. People on Amazon say it doesn’t get fine enough.
@TealHouseFarm4 ай бұрын
I will agree that unless you have time to sit and grind 4-5x it is not fine enough for flour. I would buy a more expensive one if you want bread making flours

This is awesome, thanks for sharing!! I've been considering getting a grain mill for my corn, and this seems like a good option. Question: where do you get your grain from? I'd really love to get whole wheat berries that aren't, like, $5/lb.

I have a hook up to free grain through a friend of a friend so not sure about prices 😬. I know a lot of people like Azure standard tho!

I have a wonder mill and I run everything twice. Can you pull your table apart like you are adding or removing a leaf and attach it there? My husband made a little thing for me to attach mine too with a small chopping block-you may be able to attach a drill to it and use the power from the drill (that is what I do most of the time.)

Why would you need to seal or freeze the flour? wouldn't it last a while just in a storage container or dry paper bag?
@TealHouseFarmАй бұрын
It depends on the type of flour. If you’re going to use it up in a few weeks, no big deal. But if you’re going to be using it over months I typically freeze any we grind at home to prevent spoilage
