I love how you "wonder what that star means" next to the food cost - when it explains it in one sentence at the bottom of the card....and how we get advice on how to save time watching this...(wait for it)...at the very end of the video. Wingspan has quickly become my all-time favorite game. I play it at least once or twice against the Automa every day. Thanks for the vid.

Hey, it was a legitimate unboxing video. I always want the reaction to be a sincere reaction. I don't care for unboxings where everything is sorted and punched and they're explaining the components like they've played the game a dozen times. I mean, I get why other people would, but I like the actual 'first encounter' type videos. As for the 'time saving tip' that's just me not thinking before I speak. lol. My bad. :) I'm happy to hear you're enjoying Wingspan. It really surprised me. I thought it would be the first Stonemaier game that fell flat for me.

@@TheMillShow no, I get it. It was just odd to partially read the card, but miss the explanation at the bottom. No biggie. I usually hate games that play in turns, and phases, and have too many components. I'm turned off before the game begins. I tried this once and was hooked. It's surprisingly compact (in terms of game play) in spite of the complexity of the components and strategy. I feel like it's a game that can never be mastered. I've never LOST a game so often and still loved it.

The * in the food cost is instead of paying the food cost you can pay a card for each of that symbol in the cost and those cards become tucked.

Jamie said that at least the next 3 expansions will be designed to fit in this box, so I don't think we'll be getting any more card trays.

Thanks Mike. Yeah, now that I have everything mixed together, I could see that. I think we can expect going forward that we'll get about 81 cards an expansion, if this fits the next three. Thank you for the heads up.

As it’s still a 1-5 player game, I wonder why there are extra food and egg pieces.

The extra food is because with more than one person having aggressive 'cacheing' engines, the resources can get tight in a 5 player game, and since there was going to be more cardboard with the end of round goal chips, I think it was an easy opportunity to take advantage. As for the eggs, I think there was the same issue as food. In a 5 player game when people believe their best points opportunity is to lay eggs most/all of the last round, egg resources can grow sparse.

Top 3 hmm it’s tough one. Bird of paradise aka cendrawasih is a must, hornbill and Indian roller. Honorable mention will be Malaysian kingfisher
