Even a folding phone. Vivo fold is lighter, way better cameras, way thinner, better crease, way faster charging at 80W, and 900$ normal price. Honor Magic v3 was 1100$ on BF, and is all of the above + 50W wireless charge/67W wired and the thinnest fold on the market. And having used both a z fold (4) and Magic, I think the software is so close to identical picking the better one is impossible. So the software supremacists are coping. Samsung is just taxxing the fanbois.

The thing with Apple is they tend to research technology and mature it before officially introducing it to their products. Samsung and by extension Android have so many phones they can afford to experiment with different gimmicks because well, if one doesn’t work they just discontinue it. Can apple offer more diversity across devices? Of course, but then it would take away from developing their flagship devices. Not fan boying for Apple, just stating a marketing fact.

I switched between iOS and Android multiple times and settled down on iOS because of my Mac and iPad and AirPods and Apple Watch because I can use one AirPods without pairing it with every device. My iPad is an extended monitor for my Mac. The only product I believe is great is the Apple Watch unless we need fitness. So individually hardware wise Apple is way behind but they successfully locked in because of the ecosystem. So if I have to switch it’s a pain process where I’d loose a lot of things that are convenient. Not everyone’s goal is to get the best device, it’s getting the one that fits one’s life.

I bought myself one of these upgrading from a Fold 4. The Z Fold 6 was not a generational leap. Not only is this super premium it has a main camera from the S24u, but also the antennas. You get better signal, WiFi 7, a better screen and next to no crease. As an ex-Note enthusiast I can't say I'll miss the S-pen until it's integrated. The SE is the definitive Fold. Not worth the money but I love it.

When I switched from the fold 3 to the fold 6 the biggest jump was in the outer screen, I felt that I was finally able to use it as a normal phone. Now this special edition has a screen really useful for every day use. I mean, the outer screen on the fold 6 is very serviceable, but not quite wide enough, I think Samsung nailed the it with the SE. I also agree on the lack of support of the spen is not a big deal, I had it since day one and I never use it, tried writing, painting, precision input games but never took off for me.

I have the Fold SE, and unlike the Fold 6 the camera is usable because it doesn't have the horrendous scan lines. However, the resolution is still 4mp which is very disappointing. You don't notice the camera in most content, the software is very slick. I don't think it ruins the immersion.

the SE version costs around 2,8m KRW, the standard edition is 2,1m KRW. The SE version is alegedly using UTG technology (0,03mm thin glass) while the standard one has plastic screen. I had it in hand in Korea and the difference is worth it.

I really like this. I would guess Samsung are trialling some new methods or materials to achieve the thinness and smoother inner screen, maybe some methods that they're not 100% sure about yet so they've launched to a smaller market to test and get a better idea on the durability before it makes it's way to global models. I would definitely welcome the wider front and inner screens! The aspect ratio of the inner screen looks much nicer than my current ZF5 as well

For the S-Pen, I loved it on the Note series that I had before but on the fold it has never really felt natural and without a hole in the body to store it, you're reliant on a case having a slot and ultimately it becomes a pain to carry around. I'd be happy if they made a storage slot within the phone body, as well as adding pen functionality on the front screen which I feel I would use a lot more than the inner screen

Totally agree about the in screen front facing camera, there is no point. They could easily put the SD card back in that area.
