I’ve never had a good experience with magnetic cables. Especially with the iPhones, I’m sure it happens on android as well. overtime your phone's charging port wears down. The connector that’s supposed to stay in your phone will eventually start popping out whenever you rip the cord off. Essentially becoming a regular charger. Once this starts happening there’s really no point using it anymore. Really the best thing to do would be to buy one with a brand new phone that has a newer charging port so that it will stay in there and your charger port will not wear as fast. However I’m assuming people who buy these have at least had their phone for a while. Just my 2 cents :)

You can usually just buy a new "tip" and with the genx or gen 10 version, you should just bend the cable towards the front or back of the phone to disconnect. This way it doesn't try to pull the tip out or make it excessively loose. I've been using them for over a year and they're pretty great IMO.

If you have different ports in different devices it uses universal charging cable now. 2. Ports will always be covered preventing accumulating dirt / any other issues (Had one devices get broken - gg on the port) 3. you dont need to worry if anybody has your device cable - you just use your cable for ALL your devices 4. magnets are really comfortable compared to plug in plug out once you get used to it.

Since my wireless earphones still uses microusb, having the nibs in all my devices (usb-c and microusb) and carrying around only 1 magnetic cable makes it convenient. There is also less stress on the port itself when I have to unplug and go. The data sync is useful for using in the car when I connect to Android Auto to my vehicle. Because it is magnetic, I can just plug it in with one hand and keeping my eyes on the road. Wish they will start making ones that is thunderbolt 3 usb-c data transfer capability so I can plug my surface laptop to the monitor.

Wireless headsets are the best sort of application for these cables. Once you get a low battery notification, just slap the cable to the side of your head rather than needing to take it off and find the right spot/orientation (because most wireless headsets these days still use micro-USB). With the more protruding ones, one will inevitably get used to the connector sticking out at the bottom, as one does with all things. We were used to bezzles, got used to droplet cameras, etc. But the bigger concern is snag danger when you pull it out of your pocket or bag, since a few hard snags may have the same damaging effect as a hard pull from a plugged in cable, which would defy the purpose of the magnetic connectors.

This is not "COOL" "COOL" is charging my device through a FAST charger! I barely ever use wireless charging since its not that fast, and that is way cooler than Magnetic charging!
@Zez1nas4 жыл бұрын
Yea i totaly agree with that ... 50w super vooc and after 30min 0-100% thats way cooler then some shity wireless charger
@FreePalestine..4 жыл бұрын
@@Zez1nas Yea I can't understand all these fancy charging methods. The only "COOL" charging method is putting my phone on a fast charger, go for a shower, come back and its pumped up!

I use the recessed style magnetic plug and i just found the right sized case (otter box) and cut off the power port plug and the adapter fit perfectly flush. It is more beneficial to use the wires for all of your devices so you dont need diffrent wires, just grab a mag wire and it works for everything, not the fastest charge but its convenient

I use Volta magnetic cables. Price-wise, definitely in the "premium" sector.

We we are effectively getting to that stage already. Wireless charging is almost becoming the norm. It's crazy to think what we could be using in the next few years ! That's why technology is fucking beautiful!
@hiimapop77554 жыл бұрын
Based on how much progress we've made in the past decade, I wouldn't be surprised that wireless charging will take over before the end of 2030.

The end of the stock cable destroys the port inside of the device if you keep focking with it. Basically, it's an operator error if you destroy the port.

@unbox therapy Keep in mind you will need to remove it from the phone when you get out of the car. You have to have multiple cables to be able to charge in the house and in the car and not have to remove the adapter. I used one in my car for the same exact reason you wanted to. The removing the little piece from the bottom of the phone caused mine to go bad in a couple months. I used on iPhone 7.

Also a very useful application is for tablets and laptops, because if you would trip over the cable it would disconnect and not pull the thing down with it

I use a otter box. If I have it at 4:45, then I can just tear off the little charge port protecting flap and it looks like it would be flush with the case and maybe held in place in fact. It could work.

It’s a very specific use case for these cables. In related news I just upgraded to usb c fast charging for my iPhone XS. And I’m pleased after only 3 days of use. Now why do I have to upgrade, well because I’m using a MacBook Pro mid 2013 and I don’t have usb c, until now.
