I love the subtlety of the clues leading up to the big reveal. Elijah fits all the features of the villains he describes throughout the movie - he's smart and physically weak, he's color coded with purple as far back as the gift from his mother, his large hairstyle gives his head an exaggerated size and the way Sam uses his eyes gives us those hints of madness. It's a beautiful combination of Sam's brilliant perfomance and subtle filmmaking to lay out all these clues for us while we never suspect Mr Glass because he's helping Dunn find his purpose. Amazing.

I could not agree more w you w regards to compromise. I have been in a relationship w my partner for 18 years, married for 8 and that is a key component to a lasting relationship. But I did understand the wife in this film as a physical therapist she has seen all the damage football does to athletes, proven to cause deep neurological and brain damage due to all the concussions. We all have our limits and that was hers, at the end of the day no one forced him and he decided on his own to give up football. Love your reactions and look forward to the next one!

My friend and I watched this reaction after a long day of driving, and we were smiling the whole time! Shyamalan's emphasis on family, and families struggling to remain intact through incredible adversity is one of my favorite things about his films. Everyone is saying to watch Split and Glass next, of course, and you should because they are loosely related to Unbreakable. But Signs (2002) is fantastic--don't miss out on that one, and The Village (2004). I have a feeling you will love the themes in both. Signs is my favorite of the bunch.

"Whipping first, therapy later" 😅 'No shooting friends' is such a powerful scene (the father deserves a whipping too for not keeping his gun locked up - there are no accidents with guns, only negligence) M Night can get incredible performances out of child actors when he wants. Unbreakable is my favorite M Night, so I hope you will continue the 'Eastrail trilogy' with Split and Glass. I would love to see what you think of stranger M Night movies like The Village and The Lady In The Water

Definitely Split is worth a look, good acting from James McAvoy. Haven’t seen Glass so I don’t know how good that is. But I’m sure everyone will agree M. Knight Shyamalan’s best movies to watch are The Happening and Lady In The Water. Riveting stuff.

This is my favourite M Night twist. It blew me away and kept me thinking for days. (Unlike The Sixth Sense, which was obvious to me from the beginning.) I love that Mr Glass is such a sympathetic villain. He was just looking for answers to his existence, and his life purpose.

The most disturbing thing about this movie is how young Mr. Glass' mother looks lol. She's 5 years younger than Samuel Jackson and that Grey hair isn't fooling anyone lol. This is still my favorite M Night movie to date. I was disappointed in the 3rd movie of his trilogy within this universe though. It could have been so much better than what we got. The movie 'Split' that was the 2nd of the 3 was pretty good though.

@@jp3813 Nothing I can do about that now is it. It's not like it was something intentional I was going for but it's also not spoiling the film's ending since that scene took place after the title popped up to end Split. It's rare to not see people recommend Split this after Unbreakable in the comment section so I wouldn't have been the first one. lol I can even see 4 other comment before mine saying the same thing so they'd be the one who spoiled it first for her. It's just so normal for me to see it as a trilogy, I often forget that the pre end credits is what's connecting them and is a spoiler in that way.

I got told about this movie before I saw it because I have osteogenesis imperfecta, the condition of Mr. Glass. We often say we are OI or have OI rather than saying the full name. So I'll talk about that a bit. If it's boring apologies. *The typing system does not go as he describes, but to be honest I prefer his version. Instead it's a bit more helter skelter. Type I is the mildest, Type II is the most severe, Type III is traditionally the second most severe, and Type IV between I & III. Then there are types after IV that have been discovered through genetic means. I don't precisely know my type because the system didn't get popular in the US until after I was born. *We can have fractures "in utero" I know because I did. However my understanding is if you had fractures in utero you aren't Type I, which is what I think they said he is. *OIs/People with OI do tire easier but in my experience we are not "low energy" the way he struck me as being. *Mental health and OI is a bit unclear. I've read studies on this that indicate we are less depressed than average people and others that indicate we are noticeably more depressed. My, admittedly limited, experience with other OIs (in life and online) leads me to believe that depressed OIs are more common than I once thought but that serious issues with that or other things is usually more than just one having OI. Many of us are fairly happy in fact. A fragile body is the only body we've known so we're not "missing" something we never had. Most of my life I would say I was happier than my siblings, I'm in a bit of a slump at present, though I do have anxiety issues. I think the movie does indicate social isolation and being picked on contributed to his outlook. Although admittedly the serious mental illness in OIs I know of had bigger causes than that. (One witnessed a parents suicide, another had a psychologically abusive father, and I know of OI men who feel ugly/unable-to-get-a-woman and flip-out in the way some able-bodied men like that sometimes do.)

@@melanie62954 Thanks! It is a relatively rare condition, one in 15,000 people, though it's possible the most mild form is more common than I thought as a man in my little town was recently diagnosed with it in his like 40s or 50s.

Not everything in relationships can be compromised beliefs, religions ,and principals you can't compromise. For example, I can't have a relationship with people who have violence in their life even "acceptable" violence like in sports ,soldiers or police officer who killed others.

I guess the "bullet proof father" is a reference to George Reeves. He portrayed Superman in the 1950s TV series and he once faced a dangerous situation. A young boy once pulled a pistol on him to test whether Superman was truly invulnerable to bullets. But maybe it's a coincidence.
