Great episode. The grandmother and grandson were so loving, and his love for her was so deep. If only more people took care of and spent time with their elders, the world would be so more beautiful.

I was going g to post the same thing. That is one beautiful soul of a young man his love for and appreciation of his grandmother is so palpable I could feel his heart hurting. I eas very close to my maternal grandmother (Nanny to me). She lived to be almost 100, was just 4' 9 " of pure love and energy. The seeming toughness this grandmother has to have lived through what she did in Vietnam made her tough but you can see by the love of her grandson that there was plenty of love in her heart.

Yes! I agree completely. When my Granddad was still here, in his 70s or so, my Dad (his son) spent hours and hours "interviewing" him.....asking about the Korean War, the years they lived abroad, his years as a minister....my Dad still has those cassette tapes. ❤❤

We had my grandma write down everything about her life and anything she wanted to say. We still have the book. My grandpa was recorded telling us about his life in service, meeting grandma, and all the stories in-between. We had it tranferd to a flash drive. It was way back when recovers were VHS, lol. He went first, and my grandma was lost. She moved in with us, and we were beside her till she went to heaven to meet Grandpa. ❤

But it's their stories that matter, their stories need to be told, that's what's fun to listen to even as a 17 year old. Just dates and names in a family tree? No wonder he doesn't remember.

Shocked that is 'socialised' HealthCARE? Shocked that it's free? Or shocked because you in the USA don't have a healthCARE system but a health business? I'm so sorry for all Americans. It's about the me and not the us. I'm Sixty five year old female. Paid taxes all my life. Fractured my femur and patella in February, 2023. X-rays, CT scan, drugs, physiotherapy. Spent a week in a huge public hospital in Melbourne, because I was in Melbourne when I had my fall that caused my injuries. Was then transferred to the little local hospital in the town where I live. There I stayed six weeks. No on-site Doctors. Nurse led hospital with dr's from the local medical centre dropping in to oversee pain relief drugs. Could weight bear. Live alone. After discharge, went on to the Transitional Care Program. $10 per month. Home physiotherapist visits, case manager there for me five days a week, cleaner an hour per week, lovely men and women picking me up for medical appoints and scans. Picking up my groceries and delivering them to my home. Only had to pay for my drugs after 35 days in hospital. However they are heavily subsidised. Reckon I was, maximum $250 dollars out of pocket. However, not spending money whilst in hospital, and happy to contribute something, it was nothing really. Civilised nations care about our familes, neighbours, members of our community and society in general. I doubt I'll see it in my lifetime, however how improved would America be if you eventually get Universal HealthCARE. No-one missing out on treatment and no bankruptcies. Stay safe and healthy.

Such a dear, sweet, caring grandson...he loves his Grandmother...so easy to see...I think he will be lost without her, for awhile, but her lessons will mean so much to him, after she is gone. I so wish we didn't have to lose our loved ones...it's such a hard path to walk. He has already learned life's hardest lesson though...he knows well that relationships are far more important that money or anything else material...his Grandmother has taught him well & he has listened intently to her, her stories & her life experiences...that's what will sustain him, when she is no longer here. Blessings to this beautiful Grandmother & may she rest in peace...continued Blessings for this beautiful & intelligent Grandson too...may he go far in life & find all the happiness he can handle.♥ Their story so moved me...I found myself crying...wanting her to stay longer for her grandson...because I know well the pain that he will have to deal with, when she does pass.💔

Perfect example of how to communicate with your teen children. Adrian never gave up on having a meaningful conversation with his son even though the responses were short and he looked disinterested. Until Adrian finally found common ground and began to talk about football. You could see how his son’s face lit up for the first time!

My dad did the same thing. He came back into my life as a teen and he had know idea what to say. So he listened to my favorite song. Watch my favorite shows and movies with me and talked about them . Then it was what we did when I was young and how awful he felt for having to leave. How much he has always loved me. He move, when I was only 4 and that was it. Until I was 17 and wanted to know him again. He left it up to me and when I was ready. Now im 40 and we have a wonderful relationship and I now know he would throw himself in front of a bus to save my life. ❤ he never gave up after getting a second chance to make things right.

I sincerely wish that I had a surrogate grandmother and grandfather. All of mine died young except for my fathers mother that lives on the opposite end of the country as me and now is in a old folks home because she has Dementia. I only met her as a toddler and once again when I went back at 35 and was very fortunate to meet everyone on my fathers side (I only met my father when I was 31) including my grampie who has now passed away. I am so happy that I got to meet my grandparents when they were of sound mind and got to bond with them. My grandfather was a very intelligent, strong, hard working and sensible man. It was so cool to be able to talk to him about carpentry, hunting/fishing and other manly things because he enjoyed that his granddaughter had the ability and interest in such things. I only wish that my mother hadn’t moved my brother and I 3000 thousand miles away when we toddlers. My mother’s family was so full of abuse and dysfunction and I know that I would have had a much happier and stable childhood if I was able to grow up in my dads family.

I find it quite funny when people tease someone for a small toe injury or often use toes & fingers as an example "you freak out when you hurt your toe, you're so squeamish over a little toe" but there's a reason why toes, fingers & nails are the first line when someone is being tortured, they are full of very important nerves that help us grab, hold, eat, walk, balance, that's why it freaking hurts so bad when you smash your finger or stub your toe.
