Amazing! Though I was stuck in the death loop or buying a new radio. Found other forums with the link but was broke. You ROCK! * the file you sent via email I had to unzip and save to computer, then drag and drop to copy to a 32gb formatted USB. And boom, no more uconnect scam BS!

This also worked for me on a 2014 grand cherokee. My unit wasnt turning on all the time right away when I turned on the car. It would turn on eventually 5 min or so into driving and hence I thought I needed to update the software. That got me stuck in the loop of death for a few days. I tried a few different solutions that you see posted around, but they didnt work. This worked first try. The car did have a message up when I returned to it about something in the update being incompatible, but the radio was on and working and the version did say 18.45. Thanks for posting this fix.

I have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk, I tried to install the version you used for your vehicle (16.33.29), apparently the installation was working fine, but a few minutes later I got a message saying the version is not for my Jeep :( I was frustrated, i tried turning the engine off and back on and magically the JEEP icon appeared on the screen and the uconnect system worked again! I checked the system version and it says it has the 18.45.01 version, I don´t know how it happened, but the only thing I can say is THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP! and thanks to the person that shared the link, user and password for downloading the file!

It may help to reformat the USB drive. Especially downloading from a Mac. In Disk utility make sure the flash drive is on MS-DOS FAT. If not erase and format the drive. Open Zip, Open folder and drag the files. This helped me!

Great help, I had similar situation with my Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 2014 for two days, stuck in the loop, called Uconnect they said to take it to the dealer, then I found this lead, download file, stick in memory and worked great. Yes it shows at end this software may not be compatible, then all back to normal and shows the latest version 18.45. I do not think I am updating anymore the software, it seems is a manufacturer glitch to force to update the software buying the display. Thank you!

2015 that was bricked and for anyone who runs this update but it still doesn’t go through. I removed the entire head unit assembly and unscrewed the back and reconnected the cable on the air card and the download then booted up properly.

I made my way into the file share program, and downloaded the file to my Mac, do I need to be using a windows machine to get this fix to work? Can't seem get the proper files to my flash drive, I've tried 3 different thumb drives.

Be sure to unzip the file before adding to flash drive. Also format flash drive. What size are you using?

@@bum3248 Yes, unzipped the files first, and only transferred unzipped files into the empty flash drive. I've tried flash drives sized: 4g, 16g, 32g. I believe the formatting is 32FAT, but not sure how to "change the format of the flash drive."

Just shot you an email to get the files. So frustrated after multiple calls with uconnect and fca. FCA told me the uconnect site was down (what she meant was the file is corrupt) and when I told her that it’s still up and running and they need to put a warning to not do this update, she said basically that they’ve been trying. When I went to the dealership this morning the service advisor told me that me being frustrated was just a problem with my generation because he didn’t have AC or a radio when he was a kid…. He was maybe 50.

You should be able to still download the file. You are not actually opening the file you just need to unzip the file to access the files in it
