If your damper collapsed and pumping the positive chamber to a reasonable value does not depressurize the damper - it is stuck-down. The collapse of the damper in this way is a common affliction of models from the Monarch series. It results from the transfer of air from the positive chamber to the negative chamber through the leaky gasket in the positive chamber. the thus equalized pressure between the positive and negative chambers prevents the damper which is held closed by the large volume of air in the negative chamber from stretching.
How to deal with a stuck down. How to repair / disarm a collapsed damper. About all this in the material!
