There is a such thing as respectful trash talking, even from kids. I'm a boxing trainer & coach & I had a student say to me, "Coach, I think I can knock you out." I said, "For real." He said "Yes Coach.." I told him to lace up the gloves. He had a big smile on his face like he was gonna put in some work. I told him, "I'm gonna pick up the pace this time & add some power, so be ready." He said, OK. I told the other students to pat attention to how I defend everything g he does & watch my counters. By the time the 3 minutes was up he was screaming out loud with fear & I was purposely missing the punches. I just let him feel the pressure & wind when my punches went past his face. He couldn't wait to get out of that ring & I didn't even hit him. He & everyone there learned a lesson that day to not talk trash or call out the coach. I don't know if football has any scary drills to prove a point to a talkative youngster, but if not, yall need to create some. Not punishment exercises, but making the kid realize that he's not close to being good yet, much less better than DK, Cam or Ocho. I like sùper confident or even cocktail kids, because they most likely want to be able to back that up one day. If you show them they really ain't ready, they'll stfu & listen because now they know that whatever they have isn't enough.
