One of the most dominant runs in NCAA tournament history. All wins by double digits, led all but 10 minutes of the tournament.

Most of those minutes were against LSU in the 2nd round. Ty Lawson came back from a turf toe injury. He struggled in the first half, but turned it on in the 2nd half and never looked back.

@@reptilelicks9796 I hear ya. UConn was scary to watch MSU have to play...That game is up there as one of the 3 of the most memorable games I have watched...MSU was making a ton of great plays but UConn just did not go away even though they were having a bad night. If Jerome was healthy it would have given UNC a better match up for the championship game than MSU because it was like they never had a chance to get off the bus before an all out track meet started .I have never seen such an upset given to MSU...It was so disappointing to watch but the road to the championship was exciting..

@@peteza7483 UConn had a great team that year. The Dyson injury really hurt them since they didn’t have that guard play needed deep in the tourney. I also remember watching that and UConn played a pretty bad game and it was essentially a home game for MSU since it was in Detroit. MSU earned the win but I do think a healthy UConn team with Dyson and on a neutral site definitely wins that game. I also think UConn could have matched up with UNC really well but we can only wonder now

They were super during that tournament no doubt but to say they're Carolina's best, your totally discrediting 1957, 1982, and 2005! Those teams were also very very good and comparing different eras is impossible because the game has changed so much through time! No pun intended, but to me Carolina's '82 club is still their standard for three reasons - James Worthy, Sam Perkins and Michael Jordan! When u look at matchups, who on those other championship teams would actually have the ability to D them up for an entire game! Worthy and Jordan's athleticism would be greatly difficult to man for 40 minutes

@yojoeski
@yojoeski 4 жыл бұрын
The only team I think that can compare is the 1982 team. It's interesting because I can think of teams that didn't win the championship that were superior to some teams that did. For instance, the 2008 and 2012 teams I think were superior to the 2005 and 2017 teams that did win it all. There were also some powerhouse teams in the late 90's during the last days of the Dean Smith/Bill Guthridge years that honestly should've won championships.

Showing my bias here. One of the most impressive wins by North Carolina in program history. 70,000 plus in attendance. 60,000 were Michigan State fans. Cheering for the Spartans 3rd National Championship. And the Heels didn't flinch one bit in an environment like that. I think the Spartans needed alot of energy and effort to beat UConn just to get to the Final. Carolina was just a machine that year. But my Spartans had a great run. Izzo got every bit of talent out of that group. Fun Fact: This was the biggest win for Michigan football since 1948.

When Roy got the teams going he dominated the NCAA tournment, Coach K did well, and Wooden was awesome, and think if Larry Bird had played at say UNC in 79, but I pick 82 UNC vs 68 UCLA as the dream game, but Roy's team were great when he had the package, big men and 3pt shooters with a fast break, which brings up two points why did Roy not use Stillman White as a three-point shooter in 2016? And did Roy do all he could this year setting up Walton and Playtex for 3 point shoots? And injures hurt him in 2012, like injures hurt Dean in 1984. I agree with Roy that the 2021 team could have done more, but what a year a winning season, a final four in ACC Tournament play, and NCAA apperance. A dream season for some coaches, but with Roy a HOF coach he wanted more, I guess the 2021 team would make a good book someday about expectations. Great career Roy your name is mention besides the greats, we will miss you.

Here are my opinions, 1. 2009 UNC 2. 1996 Kentucky 3. 1992 Duke 4. I dont know well a lot about the Uconn Huskies but i'd say 2004. 5. 2012 Kentucky 6. 1998 Kentucky 7. 2008 Kansas 8. 1994 Arkansas 9. 2018 Villanova. These are my thoughts as a UNC fan have a good day!

Tell me something! What is classic at all about this game! Other than the fact it was a foregone conclusion the minute the semifinals had been completed! I predicted this would be a show no mercy beatdown and that's the only thing it lived up to! A classic is one that in any sport goes down to the final whistle or output! This was anything but!

I beat they could've scored 120 points in that game but coach Williams made them start using the shot clock instead of pushing the ball he didn't want to embarrass his good friend coach Izzo to bad, atleast Roy had a heart he could have turned them loose again if he needed to!!

If 2017 beat Nova the 5 past rounds were double degit wins. Q game short. 2012 would've played Kentucky in the Title game. Fact°
