But today in 2020 specially in the west if a man opens a door for a woman she may get offended i know this because this did actually happened to me I opened a door for a woman she looked me up and down and said she is fully capable of opening the door herself and walked off with me still holding the door open, I said to myself what a rude bitch. I know all women are not like that, so I wont let it stop me from being polite as i dont think i am doing anything wrong.

@Simrat Singh that is true....with that definition most people are infact feminist but the people who claim to be feminist won't actually don't do justice to it, like....the ones who oppose men being privileged won't oppose ladies first, who oppose dowry won't oppose alimony, who oppose pati parameshwar won't oppose aurat maa hoti he, the problem feminism is facing is people being g hypocrites, most of them aren't against st stereotypes, they are only against stereotypes which doesn't profit them. If they chose to take a neutral stand feminism would be accepted by everyone, look at the feminists supporting rhea chakraborty now, I am from kerala. A women killed her own child before sometime and the feminists were in support of her and they even bashed social media for trolling her saying you can't troll women since it is misogyny😶

The lady who asked the first question🤣 Apparantly , I have realized that Indian kids who grew up in America have a stereotypical image about life of kids in India ( which is date back to 80s ) And they end up spreading that same stereotypical image about Indian young adults and their families. Yes , education is given utmost importance in India but also , equal importance is given to co curricular activities in school for a personality development, definitly better than level of education of these public schools in the US. So , Indian kids who grew up in America please research and leet the right kind of other kids in India to get good and basic information.

I think it really depends on different parenting and households but my problem is that they are painting all the parents and families with a single brush and that’s not fair. We have different kind of parents , I grew up in a household where my mother asked me to get a degree with a higher profession but at the same time my parents also encouraged to take up extra curricular activities and pursue that as a career if I exceled. I know a lot of parents like mine and I aslo know a lot of parents for whom exceling in education , getting a six figure job was important so my point is not every household is same.

The majority of Indian parents and schools preferacademics, almost everything almost to the exclusion of anything else. So this stereotype is true.
@anonymousindian248
@anonymousindian248 4 жыл бұрын
blue sky Agree and that’s my point , majority or some but not all !As per my eyes what I have seen a number of people born in 80s and 90s and beyond have been theatre artists , film artists , regional artists , painters having gallery , stand up comedians on youtube and comic-stan/netflix , writers , dancers both classical and western , etc. There are also a lot of strugglers who are artists but because of their education they have a side hustle to feed themselves.It’s not fair to say that Indian parents are totally against it. Otherwise we wouldn’t have had of lot of these artists and again not all famous/non/famous artists are born in Africa. A lot of them are born in India , grown up in India and are still supported by their families. It just depends on how far beyond the traditional education system are ones parents and families ready to go.

Lol don't lump all men together and tell us how to behave. By the same logic we could lump all Indian women together and tell them that you should behave in such a way where you're not always making false rape accusations, expecting a man to pay the bill, causing drama, and all the other list of toxic things women do. Men don't owe you anything and you don't owe any man anything. The guy just got a second chair he didn't solve world hunger. Get over your self-centered feminism. Being a woman doesn't automatically mean you're a lady and deserve a certain kind of treatment.

That's because equality and respect is normalised in your system over a long period of time. Here, the social system is still battling patriarchy(mostly toxic and practised for generations) and hopefully, we will normalise equality and privilege irrespective of gender differences or differences of any kind over consistent efforts to do so :)
