I don't know I may be the oldest one this bunch as crank in on 73. But our ages have nothing to do with all our shared affection and Love we have for this young, infinitely talented woman. To say she is rare in today's world is an extremely absurd understatement. She makes one of a kind sound like it borders on insult. God set this angel on this earth to give us hope that we can all be better. Then there is that voice and vocal intelligence that puts Angelina's stamp on everything she sings. This computer screen is the closest I'll ever get to her physically, but she will always be close to my heart as she is to all your hearts.

Angelina had requested changes to the music and sent a message of thanks to the conductor and orchestra for trusting her. At the end, the conductor watches for her signal to end the music in perfect time with her singing. The orchestra also joins the audience in applauding her performance❤

Pontus, at nine years of age Angelina wrote her book, “Between Two Hearts”. At seventeen years of age she sang a song that was between her heart, Narges’ heart, her children’s and the whole world’s hearts. This was a perfect performance by Angelina and the orchestra. It honors Narges and her personal sacrifice to do away with the archaic treatment of Iranian women.

Pontus, thanks for using James's video to react to Angelina's respectful and emotional performance at the Nobel Peace Prize tribute to Narges Mohammadi. I believe Angelina's performance needs to be heard by more people and James's video provides the needed background. It is up to Angelina's angels to remind the world about Narges Mohammadi and the fight, not just in Iran but around the world, for human rights, especially women's rights.

Even with this presentation, some other reactors need to be told to read the captions. Not a problem here though with someone like Pontus who obviously understood the meaning. James must have thought that his introduction, with "Upcoming" segments announced in bold print, was explanation enough, forgetting how distracting (i.e. captivating) Angelina's voice can be, when she is singing in the background.

@@LonghopeBro-ju6jl I believe many reactors are just so accustomed to reacting to only music, that is difficult for them to pay attention to a written story. Quite sad actually.

Angelina Jordan is the finest musical instrument on the planet. When it comes to musical talent, none can compare to Angelina Jordan. She is not just a singer, but a musical instrument herself. Her voice is capable of producing the most exquisite hypnotic sounds, from the softest whispers to the most powerful belts. She can sing in any genre, any language, any mood. She can improvise, harmonize, and mesmerize. She is the finest musical instrument on the planet, and we are so lucky to be in this time and place to hear her perform. ©

Synergy is the combined efforts of individuals working together to produce a joint effect that is greater than the sum of the parts acting alone. The collaboration between Angelina Jordan and the KORK Orchestra at the Noble Peace Prize Ceremony 2024 was a remarkable display of musical excellence, and synergy. The young singer's soulful voice and expressive interpretation of the song, Unchained Melody, captivated the audience and complemented the orchestra's rich and nuanced sound. The performance was a fitting tribute to the peace laureates and a celebration of harmony and diversity©

The children of Narges Mohammadi were present for this performance. Kiana and Ali are 17, the same age of Angelina, along with her husband. Angelina signs 'Unchained Melody' seemingly on behalf of Narges being unchained from her jailers and able to be with her family. Angelina brings such an emotional, respectful, classic, understated, delegate performance that will come to be appreciated as one of her best ever. Thank you Angelina.. and also to Pontus and James🍁

I’m sure Angelina is feeling so honoured to be performing at the Nobel peace prize in her home country Norway especially as she is reunited with the Norwegian Kork orchestra, not the first time Angelina has performed at the event, the first time was in 2014 when Angelina sang ( What A Wonderful World), Angelina has collaborated with the Norwegian Kork orchestra on several occasions, once with her rendition of ( Back to Black) and again when Angelina sang ( Summertime Time) , I’m travelling from the United Kingdom to attend the Las Vegas concert, this will be my fourth time I’ve seen AJ live,my earliest experience of this phenomenal artist performing live in Norway was when Angelina was 12 years old with her arrangement of ( ITS A Man’s world) the performance was phenomenal, also I attended the same concert as you when AJ was 16 , also her amazing concert in Portsmouth USA,cannot wait to see my favourite artist again, Angelina never disappoints, great performance great reaction thanks!

Magnificent interpretation and delivery so apt for the occasion and the family receiving this prize for their mother. She sings it like a lullaby, like a plea, like a warm embrace. Yes, the heart, the tears. Yes, thank you, James. I like the comments from Angelina and Juliette at the end. And, Pontus, thank you. Pontus, it's a wonder how you can stay away from something like this so that you can do it as a first time listen. I'm sure you've seen pictures of her how she was dressed for the performance and that, alone, had to raise your eyebrows. First of all a big 'Thank You' to James for putting this together. He works tirelessly on his Angelina projects and he will be the first to tell you it is a labor of love. You can rightfully assume I've seen this video (the official video of the Ceremony performance) well over 100 times already and when I watch it with a reactor I get emotional as if it's the first time I've seen it. As I'm typing this I'm listening to your video again and you are so right when you stated it is incredible to believe how she has been focused on her future starting at, what, 2 years old!?!?!?!?!? Pontus, music and Angelina are synonymous and she is, through song, our Messenger of Love. When we hear her speak with her soft tones it is so beautiful but there is also a strength within her which will guide her and always keep her connected to us. Take care.

Highlights of the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony One of the highlights of the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony in Oslo, Norway, was the stunning performance of Angelina Jordan, who sang Unchained Melody with her soulful voice. This unbelievable classic ballad, composed by Alex North and Hy Zaret, has been covered by many artists, but none like Angelina. As she sang, the words and hypnotic tone wash over you, and you are taken to the most wonderful place you have ever been. Her rendition was a tribute to the power of love and peace, and a fitting way to honor the Nobel laureates of 2023. ©

I agree with you, Pontus. Absolutely the best version I’ve heard. Actually gets to me before Angelina opens her mouth. As soon as the orchestra starts, my breath hitches and my eyes start to burn. Maybe that’s because of the orchestra, or maybe it’s because I know what’s coming. Whatever the reason, I’m certainly not disappointed. By the extraordinary ending, I’m a basket case.

Loved your reaction. My wife and I will be at the 7:00 concert in Las Vegas. I’m concerned about the slow ticket sales. I’m sure the short notice has a lot to do with it. I knew that a sell out was probably unlikely but with just over two weeks to go I think it’s going to be difficult for even half capacity. Sales for the second show are even slower. It would be heartbreaking to see such small turnouts. It’s too bad there couldn’t be more advanced notice and more publicity. I hope that everyone who can considers going to Las Vegas to support Angelina.

@@Pontus-Osterlin More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for 200+ songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She had been living for years in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship. She just moved back to Italy a few months ago (temporarily?). She became very famous in Quebec and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary, packed with masterpieces (covered by many great vocalists later on). But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban (they are friends and he told she is a role model for him), Linda Eder, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Dmitri Hvorostovsky (Adagio), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Gigi de Lana (Broken Vow) ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio), ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Jeck (Je T’Aime), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Anna Eriksson (Je suis malade), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ Sevara Nazarkhan (Je t’aime) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. On April, May, June 2023 she had again some wonderful concerts in Tbilissi, Georgia, then in Ouzbekhistan, Kazakhstan, Romania. She is about to release a new album and kick off another tour that will visit eastern europe in april 2024 (Czech Republic, Moldavia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkiye), then several locations in Canada in june 2024 and, after some rest and a few TV Shows, France in 2025. The first song of the new album (titled "Ta Peine" - Your Sorrow) was released late January 2024 and is a success in France. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

I am totally exhausted after this. Just…Oh my dear Lord. James over the top production is the best on the Internet. I have probably watched over 300 reactors. Pontus, I had to stop looking at you, so I wouldn’t burst out sobbing. So worth the wait. Now you can do what I do. I watch this just about every day, and sometimes 2, 3, 4 times? Such an operatic finish. Is it in my top 10? Duh‼️ 😇🌸 for Angelina and for James 😇🌺 and for you, my dear boy. 😇🌺

Nice reaction Pontus! James put together one heck of a video that was very detailed and full of information that covered just about everything you wanted to know about Narges Mohammadi and the Nobel Peace Prize. I actually helped James with a very small portion of this when he asked for my help. I searched every video that I could find that had anything to do with Angelina and the Nobel Peace Prize and that small video clip at the 6:42 mark of your video is the only one that I could find where she actually spoke about it on a video! Also, Angelina is one of a very small group of people who has performed twice at the Nobel Peace Prize. It was misreported by one online article that she was the only one to appear twice. Artists such as Sinead O'Connor, Sting, Wyclef Jean, and Kylie Minogue appeared twice. The music group A-Ha has performed at 3 different Nobel Peace Prize Concerts.

As magnificent as this performance was, and others like "YOU SAY", "Suspicious Minds", etc, etc. her name was not mentioned even one time at the Grammy awards, even though she was there representing Republic Records with a great new EP which had been out for several months.

Nobody in the US has any idea who Angelina is. That would have been like talking about Olivia Rodrigo before anyone knew who she was. You don’t talk about people on an awards show that nobody has ever heard of. Hopefully this will be Angelina’s breakout year.

I realize it sounds unbelievable and “nice” sounding but the truth is Angelina is not so unusual a child or human. She was raised wisely to follow her own ideas and supported in bringing them to light, to experience her own vision and learn from her own decisions all the way along literally from babyhood. The vast numbers of people raising specifically do NOT allow kids to do that. Of course Sara did not allow everything. But artistically Angelina had Mery’s constancy to support the efforts she made.

I can't express how happy I am that you chose this brilliantly constructed video by James Thiel to react to, for this particular performance by Angelina. The reverence, pathos and emotion that she poured into it, as well as the soul-stirring relevance of the lyrics, can only be fully appreciated when you understand the story behind the performance: a tribute to an enormously courageous woman, undergoing unjustifiable, severe persecution in Iran because of her struggle for women's rights. Could you imagine the impact on her children, Kiana and Ali, sitting there in the audience, forced to live in exile in France and who have not seen their mother in many years? Chris Walker's emotional reaction ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZfJh5mNrrChd6s ) was by no means unique. I think that the reactors who have gone straight to the actual performance, without knowing the background, would still have been awestruck by the inescapable, sheer beauty of her voice and the majesty of her talent (how could they not be?), but they would have lost some of the profound impact of the performance. This, incidentally, is perhaps the most regal and angelic I have ever seen her look (and that is really saying something!).

I might be wrong, but I think it’s over ambitious to have two shows at those ticket prices in Las Vegas. I think one show at a much cheaper price would have been better, even if it sold out. And if it sold out quickly, they could have easily added another show, but the most important point is that they should have wanted a sellout, even if they lost money.

They had to rent the room and have to pay the musicians. Putting on a concert is expensive, they’re going to lose money as it is already. Ticket prices aren’t keeping people away, it’s lack of proper marketing.

@nfpnone8248 7 ай бұрын
@@kerrythomas6220 You think you can have it both ways. You think they are going to lose money anyway! Let me give you a clue, they don’t need the money! What they need is exposure for her, especially young people, even if they have to buy the tickets themselves and give them away to young people, they will make so much money that it will be well worth it. But she needs to connect with young people. Right now the average age for her fans is a 50 y.o. male, she needs 14 y.o. girls! By the way, Republic Records doesn’t need to hire a band, they have so many studio musicians that they could put together the highest quality musicians to accompany her in a heartbeat. But remember, at this stage of her career it’s more important to look like she has a huge following than it is to make money!

Great reaction to the greatest version of Unchained Melody that has ever been performed in its existence since it was written in 1955 and performed by more than 1000 great vocalists. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 This video is a masterpiece that I have watched more than 100 times coming from Oslo, Norway. Every time I hear the KORK Orchestra begin playing, I feel a surge of emotion because I know what is coming next: the most amazing rendition of Unchained Melody by the incomparable Angelina Jordan. She has a voice of an angel and a talent beyond words. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize 2023 Some ask why Angelina Jordan would pick Unchained Melody for this event, Narges Mohammadi, the Iranian human rights activist who received the prestigious award remains in Iran. One of the most popular and enduring love songs of all time, Unchained Melody, has a surprising origin. It was composed for a 1955 film called Unchained, which tells the story of a man who is incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He yearns to be free and reunite with his wife and children, who are waiting for him outside. The song captures his emotions of loneliness, hope and longing, and has been covered by many artists over the years, but none in my lifetime of 76 years have conveyed such emotion as Angelina Jordan did at this performance. ©

It will be Ms. Jordan's creativity in lyricism and musicality, that will captivate the world in the coming years, to make her name synonymous with greatness. ♾ Rb
