If you want to trade lots you can sit on layer 2 already like LRC and do trading. Its all good even with gas prices being a minor pain for small traders for now (real problem, exclusion) but its all good.. BTC and ETH are unseatable.. LINK is becoming understood and I did a heap of posts already about why its the other one, I really should have said 30% each because of how long timespans things actually have to play out over ;) great comments by Andreas give more clarity to close observers of the space

Can someone tell me the investment pitch for ETH please? If it's not money and not a store of value what exactly am I buying? I understand there is value in moving smart contracts on the Ethereum network, but I don't understand how that makes me money as an ETH investor.

Think of it as oil. Used to run machines, limited supply.

ETH is like a vending machine. No need for a cashier. ETH will automate white collar jobs and ETH smart contracts will do bureaucracy automatically and without drama. The decentralization part is important because the powers that be (banks, governments) will try to shut it down to keep their "jobs." ETH smart contracts are like a Court. Same rules for everybody. Today's rich and powerful will hate it. It can only work if the fees are paid in ETH. I bet this fair system will be used all the time by everyone.

In a nutshell, Eth is the payment vehicle for fees on the network. The more adoption the higher the price as demand increases. There's more to it but this is the most basic way to explain it.

No, the reward from each block goes to a single pool at a time, but sometimes "uncle blocks" are found and these go to pool that found them.

because there is theoretically infinite demand from people using the chain, which would come from the fees and staking those token to earn the fees. Otherwise, there certainly would not be a good reason to own an unlimited supply of easy to make "gold/money"

Since the hashrate dropped, it only means Bcash is more proof of value as miners can't dump the coins on the market and get paid-off like cheap hookers.
