Yeah...if Naughty Dog is the Pixar of Sony's game development studios, then Uncharted 4: A Theif's End is practically their Toy Story 3. A super-emotional farewell to a much-loved franchise that many of us grew up with. I'm not surprised if Uncharted 4 made many fans of the series get all choked up at the very end, and then start to make their eyeballs have a torrential downpour of tears. Heck, even the end credits, with the music and all, have more emotion in them than do many other video games.

That's because it's the last adventure for Nathan Drake, and everyone is so saddened to see him hang up his fortune hunter gear. But they had to put him out to pasture. The music was written and composed that way, because it's practically the end of an era. You got to know and grow along with the series' main character and protagonist, Nathan Drake himself, for almost ten years now, and now it's time to say goodbye to him. It's also the grand finale of the Uncharted series as we know it - A Thief's End is the chronological end of the series. The Lost Legacy was made a standalone spin-off in the series, much like the series' portable title, Golden Abyss is.

I'm a huge fan of both Overwatch and Uncharted. The end of UC4 felt emotional and epic, but that's largely given the nature of an interactive story. Overwatch is brilliant in it's own right and was the pinnacle of game design for the year. Given it's longevity and raw staying power, it's unsurprising that Overwatch won game of the year. They're both two very different games that can't really be compared, but Overwatch has a much greater reach than the Uncharted series. Both are astounding games and both were worthy, however. It's apples and oranges.

The fact that so many fans talk about being emotional and maybe even crying when they finished this game shows that it’s more than just a blockbuster action game. You could actually connect with the characters bec of how well the story was written and how well they were voiced. Most games, even if it was fun to play, u don’t feel connected to the characters. (Ex: Rise of the Tomb Raider a.k.a. Lara “Boring” Croft) NaughtyDog is one of the best bec of the effort they put into to making these games and also bec they somehow are way better at writing stories. They’ve had ppl tell them that these game changed their life or that they learned something from the stories (especially UC4).

Kudos, Naughty Dog. You wrapped up Nate's adventure with a neat and big bow. You gave us nearly 10 years' worth of adventures, with a genuinely exciting, gripping, funny and emotional final chapter to Nathan Drake's journey. He made it because we all love him so much, and Nolan North knows that Drake is his baby when it comes to VG characters. You didn't give the fans and gamers a huge middle finger, just a rewarding and satisfying conclusion. The big bad dispatched, his evil ways gone up in flames, never to return. Good truimphs over evil. And the protagonists all live and get a perfect and happy end. That's what everyone loves to have the heroes recieve: a good and cheerful end. And Nathan Drake made it out alive and well. I'm glad he did. He doesn't get a cheap kill off. He's been through so much #$%& and yet he made it, and he is free at last. We all love Drake because he's been a tough cookie, even in dire situations. And his companions made it, too. They get a neatly wrapped-up story. All their loose ends are tied up. And with those words, I salute Drake for what he did as he enjoys his life with his family. "Everyone's adventures shine so brightly. Every person we meet is a fast friend. These friends are what make everything better. We go on these adventures with these friends. We never forget them. And when we part ways, we can always visit them. We'll always share those moments forever. We're so glad to go on your adventures, Nathan Drake. We're so glad we got to know you and your companions. We're so glad to be with you." Such a perfect and happy ending for the fans and PS4 gamers everywhere.
