Ah, yes. The AION Y, the Taxi of taxies. Went back to Shanghai last year and every second Didi driver has one of these little box of a car. Gonna say it fits this rule almost perfectly.

AION Y was indeed a huge hit for GAC; the AION brand has taken off in huge fashion since the original one came out. Specs are good for the price. I can see why this vehicle does so well. Great content as always!

I'm not an investor in Xpeng; however, I'm rooting/cheering for them in the larger context of global NEV adoption. The review of the AION Y is an excellent segway towards Xpeng's Mona debut. Thanks for the frequent non-run-of-the-mill content that is always interesting, well-researched, and presented in a polished, i.e., professional, manner. I'm optimistic that geopolitical tension will eventually give way to environmental stewardship, thus allowing some of the presented options to be experienced on U.S. shores.

This car cost almost usd40k in Hong Kong , the tariff against chinese EV here is much firece than the tariff in Europe.😂

Funny thing is it's still useful as a taxi albeit as ride share, ironically on the Didi service. At least 50% of my Didi rides I get the AION Y.

EV reviewers I look for usually start with the powertrain and test it. You went only half way but nailed a fair comparison with the Model Y's efficiency. If you could, kindly add tested cooling and thermal management capabilities of for the battery pack. Does it only supports normal charging or can it withstand rapid charging? Good work and keep the good news coming.

Judging from the driving section of the video, the wind and road noises are borderline deal breakers, even at that price point…

Passengers won't be travelling for long, so sacrificing noise management for rear cabin space is acceptable.

Well into 300km. As matter of fact, not a relavent problem for MSRP 14k to 19k. I may get a base trim Civic or Corolla on Canada for this price.

You don't see the outside for very long when you drive or are a passenger. Like he said, amazingly comfortable back seats. Best taxi I took in China.
