Chinese consumers, especially the older ones, are notorious brand snobs (visit an American outlet mall and you'll see proof of that), and Tesla built up a brand early. Although younger consumers are more amenable to change, and are more easily attracted to hip young domestic brands. See Xiaomi, whose SU7 is already on the verge of outselling the Tesla Model 3 despite it being Xiaomi's first ever try at making a car. We shall see how Model Y sales are affected in about 6-12 months when the Xiaomi YU7 launches.

I'm curious about this as well, I imagine there's a sound with the emergency steering + the steering wheel most likely vibrates as well to give as much feedback to the driver. Now what happens when you try to apply force to steer elsewhere is a question. It's such a short event, that it might in fact feel very natural to just let the car do its thing and smoothly push you into the adjacent lane (assuming it's free).

Still doesn’t solve for fog or darkness or rain. Lidar is safest. When it’s bad weather, my FSD on my model y always warms me FSD degraded.

I mean we've got Teslas and (far less commonly) other car brands phantom braking often in broad daylight, essentially brake checking the cars behind them, all over the world for years now due to malfunctioning ADAS systems, creating emergency situations out of thin air, without getting any blowback. An occasional error by a car's active safety system in response to an actual emergency situation is far more forgivable, no?
