Damn you, Retrontario. I was so happy having Bimbo left to the darkest corner of my mind, but you had to re-release the trauma of that monster. I’m pretty certain he was why I had a mild fear of clowns for a good part of my childhood.

This represents the "misery" kids my age went through in the 80's, when NOTHING was on Sunday mornings = it was so bad, this song literally brainwashed us into liking it

I vaguely remember this, but I must have been SUPER small...I remember that Bimbo mannequin and the singing...and the Mr. and Mrs Happy, weird nostalgia vibe hit me just now.

I remember "Big Al's Talent Showcase". I think it was broadcast from Kitchener, Ontario. At the end of one episode, the closing credits began and Big Al's microphone was still on, and we heard him say, "That oughta satisfy the little bastards!"

Completely forgot about this show. I don't really remember him that well, but that stage colour scheme instantly jogged my memory of it. Truly for when nothing else was on.

I have to disagree with some of the “modern” comments about this show. As a kid, it was decent… inevitably one grows older and it’s becomes just another show on TV. There was nothing scary or creepy about this show. Bimbo was not creepy! Some of the comments about Uncle Bobby’s personal life are really not necessary. Some time back there were no videos on KZbin of this show, thank you Retrontario for bringing back our innocent memories.

Based on my memory, the Uncle Bobby Show aka Kids’ Corner were on in the morning, just after Romper Room. Flintstones were on in the afternoon and the outro was an indication for me that lunchtime was finished and I had to return to school.

We loved Bimbo...and Bobby...and Canada...and high Canadian standards in all things...and real hockey players tough as nails...then post-modernism (Bolsheviks) from Murica & France spent 50 years perverting and ruining everything..long live Bimbo & Uncle Bobby.

As a child in the 1970s, watching The Uncle Bobby Show was like watching a bad rerun on television, every Saturday morning over and over again. Wasn't very inspirational. The host basically did the same thing in every episode. Such as the repetitive appearance of a cardboard cutout of a clown named....Bimbo?? The children he brought in were anything but excited or interested. I wonder how many drinks did he have after each recording of the show. One of the worst children's shows I ever saw. I preferred The Electric Company and J.P. Patches. Those shows were entertaining to watch as a child.
