Hell no! Things were better when schools and teachers actually laid down the law and punished kids who stepped out of line like Maisy. They let kids get away with too much these days. This was a funny scene, but it shouldn't be taken to heart. Let's not fool ourselves into believing "they're all good kids" because that hippie self-esteem nonsense thinking started around the same time this movie was made and that's why we have an entire generation of snowflakes who expect participation trophies for everything. I see so many entitled parents who get angry that the teacher yelled at their precious little Braden or Mackenzie, or heaven forbid gave them a poor grade. I think a lot of those parents took a lesson from this movie. That's how Hollywood propaganda gets people.
@alexbaum22042 жыл бұрын
@@Felamine I don’t have kids. I was a teacher however. I can’t imagine how it feels to leave the thing you love the most in the world in someone else’s hands for a day. It must be scary and, especially at a young age, a little heartbreaking. But it’s also the way things are done. It’s a necessity for the kids and for the parents. It’s how children grow and figure out who they are. It’s how parents pay the bills. There are certainly bad teachers out there. There are bad parents too. Bad parents aren’t just the ones who send their kids to school with bruises - that’s not all we’re talking about. They’re also the ones who can’t get out of their own egos. You’re kids aren’t perfect; you’re kids are people. Just like most parents are good parents who love their kids, most teachers are good teachers who love their jobs. Clearly, we’re not talking about the paychecks here. They love the philosophy or ethos of their jobs and they take it very seriously, as they should. Sometimes the parents need to take a deep breath and listen.

John candy Is one of a few people I wish I could have said thank you for making me laugh. John was such a character, while his weight was not good for him or anyone to be honest, it was his character and his voise that was one of a kind. If he lost weight and got down to healthier levels I still would have loved him. But this scene is one of a few he did in his life that was classic John candy humor I wish he had lived longer, I hate to read about those I care for( as much as one can to any star or entertainer that you don't know personally.) Pass away, it just hurts me deeply. John...thanks man, you made growing up better. RIP. 🚕Age rolls and 🍵 mm mm good..

Would've been funny showing a short scene with Buck walking past the kid saying "I've got her all warmed up"

Uncle Buck, The Breakfast Club, Adventures in Babysitting, Home Alone, Sandlot, Stand by me were all simply amazing movies that remind me how excellent cinema was in the 80s and 90s. I can't think of a single movie in the last decade that brings about that era defining chemistry.

John Candy was a physically powerful man. If he got in someone's face they should be worried.

I love the fact and the end of the clip he moves his arm to go along with the music it’s pretty cool but my favorite part is the “Here’s a quarter. Go down town and have a rat gnaw the thing off your face! (Smiles and winks) good day to you madam.”

The best part is the reaction of the kid waiting in the office I would’ve loved to hear someone go off on my principal like this when I was in school💯💀🤣

Hands down my favorite John Candy movie. I’m a teacher and I always try to take a lesson out of Buck’s playbook. If I see an issue I try to see it not as coming from a “bad kid” but one that needs some help.
