This album! This song! It’s like stepping into a time machine for me. Thank you, Norman.

This on CD, I have it. This song really personifies the depth of Norman's writing. So many songs to choose from but this in the top 5.

I've always loved the haunting quality of this song. I don't understand why it has never been released on CD. The whole album was great.

Sublime song. I used to sing it many, many years ago. Norman is a genius. period.

@Ched1952 Thanks for commenting. There's quite a few of his albums not released on CD, all from around the same time as this one. It's a shame, as I'm sure a lot of people would love to hear them.

I have it on CD---got lucky and snagged a copy on eBay. Within minutes I got an email from a guy who missed out. I didn't know it was rare! I believe it was a very limited edition and was discontinued. It was released on Tacoma; it's number is CDP 72826. It is a 'double album' and has both 'Live at McCabes' and 'Directions.' Norman is the GREATEST!

@rockradstone You are very lucky indeed!! My copy is a second hand record, and I was really pleased just to get that. 'McCabes' is a real favorite of mine, his playing on 'nine pound hammer' is stunning.

Is this the only album that he did "The L&N don't stop here anymore"?
