Anya went from scores of 0-5 when the show first started to 30-32 within one Japanese semester. 4/5-year-old baby pretending to be 6-years-old, with no formal preschooling before this, jumping from foster family to foster family, being told she was an unlovable freak. AND we know Eden College work is actually middle school level because I was NOT doing any damn fractions in Mrs. Francis's class. (Edit: Hmm... I was using metric blocks in 5th... So, fractions were 5th? Cool.) The girl is going through a stronger, faster educational glow up than Deku, Naruto, and Goku combined.

Standard anime/fantasy protagonist must start off heavily disadvantaged and undereducated in the skills they must have. Let's throw in Luke starting his training 10 years later than the standard Jedi and Harry not knowing magic existed until right before he went to school for it (although that technically made him equal to a Muggleborn's exposure). Shout out to Ash/Satoshi for merely being late to his first day as a Pokémon trainer. 🤣👍

I can relate to Anya in this situation. The one time you can’t have the advantage for important exams like midterms. Especially with ADHD it’s much worse. And yet, Anya did something that I couldn’t do. Score well enough to not fail and be punished. Tests are a nightmare for me, especially when I have teachers that dislike me so much because of my mental disorder that they would go out of their way to make sure I don’t pass. And they can’t because I proved them wrong. Anya got her handicap that day and still fine. Maybe I should take Anya’s actions in this episode as some advice in the future for my next 5 years of college
