I keep one in my toolbox at work, with a 3/4" socket on it, to run the screw in or out, in Kurt Vises, when setting up a job. One one or two, doing it with a regular vise handle is a minor annoyance. Doing the same on say, six of them, becomes tedium.

right, because using ratchets to pull apart a low tech BBM is real brain surgery🤣🙄 Boring as shit to watch I like when Tony is dolo, I don't care about the hangers on to his celebrity. They're corny. Watching an engine being disassembled without talk is akin to watching mold spores form on bread.

Boy the bad parts and rip-off's are way out of hand. The last 2 years started with the engine letting go in my 1972-74-77 dodge w200 4x4 club cab so I decided to rebuild another 360 I had sitting around, put flat top hypers, lunati voodoo cam, had a set heads sitting on the shelf for 8 years that a shop rebuild, I port matched and lightly touched up, got a McCord gasket set with the kit. Couple hundred miles and the intake gasket goes out on heat crossover and pumps exhaust and carbon throughout the engine. Replaced and next couple hundred miles develops water leak from timing chain cover along with oil from front crank seal, when disassembling the gaskets crumble away and seals rubber cracks when Flexed, Replaced them. In the meantime my dad dies and I'm forced to move are shop during which the head gasket blows and I drive it 10 miles with a way overloaded trailer, disassemble and find badly scored piston and cylinder and the head from the other side of the engine has a crack all the way around the valve seat and is ready to drop. Engine toast, no shop, tools all buried in storage and working out of town I order a Mabbco long block, (flat tops, cam upgrade, valve spring upgrade). Go to install and notice a rocker arm shaft is upside down and no double roller timing chain per cam upgrade. Correct the shaft and use double roller from other engine. Install and do cam break in and drive 10 miles to work next day and it blows a head gasket . Mabbco tells me I can pay the shipping back to them and they will look at it. No truck is losing me work and it's faster if I fix it. During disassembling I find the heads not properly torqued. Replace gaskets and get a few thousand miles on it and head gasket blows, disassemble and really look things over and see the pocket around the heat crossover had been filled with black rubber cement (pretty sure there's a crack there somewhere), and I think it's a 318 with .060 over pistons (numbers totally unreadable) and I can still get .025 of feeler guage between piston and cylinder wall. Severe ring witness marks and piston scoring, 8 lifters not rotating with 3 galling and wearing cam lobes, cam profile is like a stock 318 2bbl. Now during the 10000 miles in 2 years here is the rest of the parts list....I'm on the 7th starter (all had different problems) happens to be the nastiest looking one from my junk pile that works, I had a shop rebuild 2 of them that failed, 3rd distributor, 3rd electronic ignition box (one I tore apart to find the big transistor on the heat sink was just mocked up and had a tiny transistor inside packed in sand under the epoxy,,,from China),3rd ignition relay, 3rd alternator (using one from junk pile) 3rd coil. All going bad at different times and the replacement bad or short lived). 4th fuel pump . Now I have no budget, losing work, on my bike during winter unable to haul tools to work, trying to junk pile together a 340, just need the crank turned, bearing and rings, but I'm still cooked on the heads, and I won't get into the parts issue with my 72 dart that was supposed to be my backup ride but start it after sitting for 6 months and have a rod knocking. The parts thing has put me on the ropes. Sorry I needed to vent Love your channel, great intel, not sure if I need it with gas over 5 bucks a gallon but I still listen

Unless I'm mistaken, those rockers look like they have an offset, but I'm not to sure if those E-street heads are intended to have them. Is that why there's no pushrods? Would even be possible for a pushrod to clear the holes in the heads?

Hey Tony, not sure if you will see this, but check the intake port width at the pushrod pinch. I bought a set of E-Street heads and upon inspection, 2 ports on each head were only .900 wide while the other 2 were 1.000. Had to port them right out of the box just to even things up. Also, the chamber volume from one end to the other kept getting bigger and bigger with each cylinder. Mine are the 75cc variant. Also, there is a super sharp edge around the valves where they cut the seat which is horrible for flow. And the guide to valve clearance was too tight, had to get my machine shop to open them up a tad.

The girl I took to my senior prom had a 69 Mustang Sportsroof with a 302 . She helped me get a job working at her brothers auto repair shop in 82. They decided to do a rotisserie restoration on the Mustang. No expense was spared . The engine was another story. They got a fully built 302 from these guys who were supposed to be the local Mustang guys / enthusiasts. Once the car was ready she was driving it to Colorado to the Airforce Academy. In Kansas City it gave up the ghost . Took it to the local Ford dealer and found the crank broke in two places. They bought a Ford Performance 302 and the dealer installed it. This is why I don't like taking anyone's word or just getting an engine from just anyone . These guys were supposed to be real good. Broken crank in two places good 😆

lol that Rod is not bent, it's Pressed fit to the Wrist Pin, it was like that so that the big end of the rod doesn't bind up against the rod next to it. If it was bent the piston would have been cocked sideways in the bore and creating a lot of drag. .Not sure how an engine that's never even ran yet can have a "Bent Rod"
