We’ve all seen a million rider interviews, and yes, Chris is a rider, but you know what I’m saying. This was another great episode. 🤘🏻

Im glad the homies at Circuit BMX are core bmx. They are my local spot and do it the way Moeller talks about.. bikes gets built until the floor display is jam packed.. those kids walk in and its like the classic candy shop scenario.. on the flip side, I can see where generic Bicycle stores are anti bmx.. general bicycle shops cant see any profit off of a grungey bmx dude when a full kit Bianchi will satisfy the bottom line over any 20".. moral of the story.. core bmx shops will be the backbone

How can you start a conversation in saying costs have risen 10x despite paychecks not increasing and in the same conversation, shit on the idea of shops offering up lower quality, lower cost bmx bikes? The financial barrier to entry was cost prohibitive for a lot of people to begin with, which is why Hyper, GT, Schwinn, Mongoose, Haro and other Walmart-price range completes always had a market. The first frame I ever legit loved was an S&M Black Bike, broke the frame and was able to talk to Sean McKinney (the famous guy from Video 4!!!), explained I was doing a wall ride and had the top tube crack, he understood how I explained what I was doing, and the description of the break and he sent me a replacement frame. It reinforced why I love S&M but it also highlights a HUGE problem. BMX experts that know their shit isn't found in a bike store...searching "bmx shop" by me returns results where there's a 50% chance the shop doesn't even carry bmx bikes and, if they do, it's only completes, no components and they can't offer ANY guidance on anything.

Moller did bus drivers, not bar spins in 1990. Super rad, but a totally different animal from a bar spin. Jeremy Verhurlst was the first person to do a Truck Driver. He did it at Rampage in 92. Both of the Alder brothers did bar spins on vert in 1987 or 88. Bob Kohl and a few others were doing 1/2 bar spins on vert as well. 1/2 bar spin and landing with your bars backwards is WAY harder than a full bar spin.

Remember my S&M baby blue Stricker 21" with European BB. That frame was so awesome. Wish I still had it. USA-made forever. USA kids need to be able to dream of being fabricators and welders one day if they are more into that kind of work vs. "emotional labor" work or other "people relations" kind of work. We have to make stuff here and buy it, as no one else worldwide will to enough a degree since we cost more with our higher safety and other higher living standards other countries' industry leaders/governments skimp on for their workers.

I’ve been riding and building bikes on off since I was like 14! Started with fixed gear and this year started messing with big bmx! I was raised in a poor household in south central Los Angeles, with a lot of friends who also didn’t have money, even our shitty cheap bikes would get stolen. All the expensive cool brands are dope af but shitting on the more affordable brands is kinda lame, especially when your talking about shipping bikes from overseas(guessing china) and passing along the freight charge to customers, spending ton of money on marketing and getting upset because some kids go buy more affordable bikes lol I’m 6ft 300lbs and I have yet to break anything on my 26 inch bmx from Elite lol bent a couple sprockets grinding my fat as down rails but that wasn’t anything due to quality haha in fact Elite even reposted me several times making me feel connected with them in a way I haven’t with a lot of other really marketed brands. There’s been hundreds of times I go to bike shops looking for specific parts I can’t find, imagine walking into a empty bike shop that only sells 5 different complete bikes, and a couple overly priced parts you don’t need to really replace , but then again it’s my opinion lol we’re not all riding the same seat😆
