Hi Steve I have just discovered you by accident on KZbin. But I don't believe I'm accidents. I was meant to see you. Maybe one day I'll meet u in person. Irish and Scots are close clans! Your videos are so simplistic, I can understand what you are teaching and why we need it. That's two fundamentals for me that help me remember.. is when I understand why I need to implement! I love your sense of humour throughout. Your a super coach I'm looking forward to a round tomorrow I'm playing so I'll try it out ..I know I should practice in the range first but can't have all this knowledge and not try to use it!! Thanks so much Scottie Steve keep 'em coming!⛳⛳

As I often say, if only I had been made to understand this right from the start all those years ago I might have turned out a reasonable golfer, and I think I can speak on behalf of many club golfers I have known over the years that have never mastered compression on a ball. Thanks as always Steve.

This is the information I really needed to understand how to impact the ball correctly as distance is a major problem for me. Will try practising this at the range this week. Thanks for the simple to understand instructions.

Thanks for the terrific video, Steve! I recently worked on my swing with a coach and it was throwing me that at address my clubface was closed - with a stronger grip. Only recently realised that it didn't matter, as long as the club face is more square at impact, which it is with rotation and shaft lean. Thanks for validating/reinforcing this!

Brilliant, as usual. I’ve been using this drill for a couple of years and it really is a game changer. In fact, when I’ve lost my swing during a round, I address the ball in the impact position and boom, I’m back on track. The question I have is why not teach golfers to address the ball in the impact position rather than the standard square-ish address position?

The tip of address position, then feel impact position then address and swing feels good

Nice demonstration.

100% agreed. Never understood why players don’t align there shots based off impact position. Instead we go through all theses alignments for address position when we should never return there.

So what your saying is that impact is important. Very likeable.

I need this. I have times when I think I get lazy and hit fat shots
@golfweed99473 жыл бұрын
great info, but when you move to the impact position it looks like your right elbow is above the shaft plane; shouldn't you stress that the right forearm, right hand & elbow, and the club shaft must/should be on the same plane pointing at the target line (right arm flying wedge plane points at the target line) through impact ! Thanks and keep it coming!

Thanks Steve, all the way from down under. Does this apply to the driver too? I would think not as we are trying to hit the ball "on the up". That being the case, what is the address to impact position for a driver?
@apaulmcdonough21703 жыл бұрын
It really is the same idea. The more Forward Ball Position, along with the longer Shaft of Driver delivering a wider, shallower arc gives the upward Impact. The Position Steve is advocating is achieved *about 6 to 8 inches Before Impact with Driver.*

An old time golf club pro said "if you're late, have no time left for practicing before teeing off, just grab a mid-iron, square the face down to a cart wheel and press it a couple a seconds, repeat the process a dozen of times, thus to make your muscles and mind recall what a good shot at impact feels like".
