I still remember the 1st time I started following her was like 2 or 3 years ago. That time her facebook page only had like less than 200k likes. Look how far she has come. Almost 2 million likes on Facebook. I don't care what people are saying about her autotune and all. She CAN sing. If not, she would not do all those tour and become famous. Every artist now in the industry are using autotune too but u do not see their fans complaining.

She's using a little bit of autotune on her voice in general but not so much that you can probably hear it normally. Most artists use some form of editing (big or little) on their vocal line to keep it in tact, or just keep doing it over and over again (I think. Although I haven't learnt how to do that properly yet).

Why is it everyone assumes autotune is involved when they hear something good? It is possible to be this good without assistance from an autotune. I mix audio and have heard both good and bad. Also, there's plenty of work that goes into recording a song. The song is recorded MANY times, and the final version gets only the best parts from each recording. Recording artists stopped doing "one-shot" recordings in the 60s-70s, when the technology became available to cut, spice, and overlay their tracks.

I adore Megan's voice. But sometimes some covers are just a little bit off. Or maybe because her voice is more girlish and high pitch. The guy's voice is good too. The cover would sound much better if it wasn't a duet. The pitch of their voices were pretty similar, so the impact was not that strong as the song is supposed to be. But it's a pretty nice cover. It's hard to cover Katy Perry songs after all, since her voice is unique. :)
