As someone that chose to be intimate and then decided to be celibate fo similar reasons as you rowena, it's a relief to see how at peace you are with the past. I struggle with guilt and black and white thinking about the right thing to do. Cause everyone has a different idea of the right way intimacy should be. Seeing you being comfortable with the grey area and embracing your former self for the lessons she learned,is admirable. As always a magically timed video that always easier my heart in this heavy world. Thank you ❤️

This is a great take on routines. That when you don't get to do your "usual"thing it can cause disappointment and anxiety. I personally always felt like it was better for my mental health to be flexible and adaptive rather than have too many routines (even though they can be good routines and healthy)

Oooh I’m so happy that you’re talking about celibacy! I am also practicing it, I started when I was around 23 and was celibate for three years, for exactly the same reasons you talked about, had a serious relationship for a while and now I’m back at celibacy. I am very comfortable in my choices but sometimes I do feel like maybe something is not right with how I perceive sex, just because I have never met anyone who had this same approach to it, but this conversation made me feel understood and I thank you girls ❤

As someone who has identified as on the asexuality spectrum for the last five-ish years -- and someone who DEEPLY respects and admires Ro -- this episode was such a wonderful thing to listen to! We come to that lifestyle by very different means and reasons, but all the same... the result of that fact leads to the culture questioning you left and right. To see that Rowena and I have something so small in common, especially since it goes against the grain of the majority, made me so happy! Loved this collab so, SO much. Please do more videos together 🥰

This is so important to hear. Im in my late 20s and have chosen to not have sex until I'm married. When I was in my teens, this sorta belief could only raise eyebrows, mild questions, among friends. Now, so many question and wonder why I choose to do that when everyone else or many are doing it. Lately, I find that I can't really explain my reasons to them (more like they dont wanna listen to my reasons at times), why I choose to do this, that this isn't exactly because of my religion. It's just something I want, something I dreamed of since I was a teen, to only be the most intimate with my future husband. As an adult, I see now how practicing self-control, not giving in to worldly pleasures (which the world today seems to be fond of, along with how easily accessible anything is cuz of technology), can be good for your mind, body, and spirit. Even when my ex fiance broke off our engagement just recently because of our lack of sex, I stayed true to myself and what I knew I wanted and believed in. It's a learning experience every day in this life 😊

The talk about celibacy is interesting bc I'm on the ace spectrum, so I have varying interest over time around physical intimacy. For others to be discovering life without physical intimacy reminds me of when I realized I was ace :) a lot of the pressures from societal messages just went away and i felt better able to refocus my energy on myself.

I'm actually not surprised at all that ro is celibate and sober Edit: I identify as demisexual as in I cannot be physical with someone without having some connection with them but also, being in a serious relationship, having sex is important to me because it's another kind of intimacy that I practice with my partner (and orgasms are actually quite important for my health lol). I totally get Ro's perspective and I loved the reflection on why is it so trivial to have sex as much and as soon as possible in our time to the point where it feels mandatory

I didn't think the "Eat bland Foods" was a thing other people did, I always have a really simple lunch if i'm just working or its an average day and im on my own. I like to go for a bowl of rice with some veggies or shrimp. Eating simple foods on a regular basis makes eating so much easier especially if you're like me and recovering from an ed. Also it can be easier to eat healthier when you eat simple foods and just appreciate there beauty.
