“Is self care really self care if it’s just another thing to check off your to do list?” Oof I needed to hear this!! I am guilty of thinking of self care as just another task. I love your thought process and perspective on the benefits of slowing down. Definitely taking notes ❤

Oh wow hey ! 25 year old here and super loving this video . Came on suggestions . I am into quiet vlogging and podcasts and this is the perfect mix and balance . Your voice over fits so nicely! I’m also feeling like 20s isn’t as awesome as society feeds us . I think I am finally excited to get closer to 30 where I will feel more and more confident and true to self . This video is a great reminder 😊 thanks

welcome to the fam leigh 🤭🫶 thank you so much!! our 20s can be amazing since we technically have less responsibilities and are more free to explore, but that also comes with the added baggage of insecurities and instability 😅 here's to making the best of what we have, where we are!

I love this first shot! Prioritizing what truly matters really does require us to slow down to further evaluate our intention! I’m a content creator and artist who’s always working around the clock. Along with other life obligations, it can be crazy difficult to prioritize time for myself to simply exist and be still. I’ve always said being ambitious can be taxing and I’ve learned that to be so true! My mental health has been strained from taking on so many things for so many people. So while I focus on growing my YT and my artist portfolio, I’ve had to learn to give myself a hug, love, and time to ensure I’m doing great because if I’m not, anything I do and everyone I look to inspire will get a shell of my best self. We all deserve to be our best selves at all time, so please take care of yourselves friends cause you deserve that love! Thanks Rowena for the amazing content and for creating such a vulnerable and loving community 💙

✨Just the opinion of someone who has watched your videos for a while…I would binge your videos cause I loved the content and the way you filmed them - I loved your advice. Then I started to think “she gives a lot of productive advice back to back - why arnt the things she is trying working by now?” Then you put out this video! And it feels SO real. Like it’s me seeing you change and mature and grow and your thought processes change along the way. I’m 100% here for it! I’m 29, 30 next year and I feel like I am developing alongside you. Like I said…just my unsolicited opinion…but I wanted to express that I really enjoy all your videos but this one is the best thus far 💕

hey rowena i haven't commented on your videos before but i've watched so many of them, and i didn't find you from the viral habits vs. systems video. i've been watching/listening to your videos a many mornings when i wake up to sooth me and have a calm start to the day. your videos are so relaxing, heartwarming, and have so much truth and love to them. your company is so easy, and i truly love your calming presence and mindset on certain things in life. screw the views -- you are impacting everyone who's watching, including me, and i love your content :))

I love the calm vibe of your videos, Rowena. This video made me think about hyper fixation on ourselves - ie. Working so hard to get things "right" or perfect. We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves! In a way, does that mean we are focusing too much on ourselves but telling ourselves a story that it's because we're trying to keep up with others? I wonder if we focused less on ourselves, allowing us to go with our gut instincts and intuition, would we be more aligned with growth and our own perspective of "achievement"? Giving me something to think about :)

Hi, I discovered your channel a few years ago and if I can be honest, I couldn't fully engage in it. I think I was so attached to my past and certain view of myself, I was scared of letting go of it. To safe myself from hard to swallow truths, I told myself your content is not really for me. However, time passed, I changed, had some mental breakdowns that in a way helped me tear down walls I built to protect my ego. Recently, I rediscovered your channel, thanks to Leah's Fieldnotes. You are probably the only KZbinr who makes me stop a video because some door in my head got open and I need to write it down and start discovering what is waiting for me there. I am now trying to catch up with your videos and I am fighting the disappointment in myself that I didn't appreciate your work years ago. Thank you so much for the way you create your content. You menage to combine striving for your best self with acceptance of ones imperfections and weak moments. So many KZbinrs make me feel awful about how not productive I am at my worst days, but thanks to you, I am learning that this shame is not helpful in any way. That I can't speed up some processes, that I need to take my time and not treat self-development as an item on "to do list". Thank you for that.

At the end of your video, "why do we care so much about looking effortlessly good?" is such an important question! I've been learning more about the myth of effortlessness in USA specifically, and it's got roots in slavery and ⚪ supremacy. (I'm no expert here, this info comes from women much smarter than me.) I had no idea but it seems so obvious! Who *gets* to be effortless? We all know these things don't just happen. The women who made it look effortless *had someone else undertaking that effort*. So one small way to push back is to acknowledge the effort it takes, and to not be afraid of letting others see the effort.

Yes 👏🏼Girl. I wholeheartedly relate to the tomboy mentality in regard to make up 😂 I held myself back from putting on make up, even as little as wearing lip stick throughout my teenage years because I always thought that I wasn’t “girly” enough, I wasn’t as “feminine” as other girls and “Dresses? Yuck! It would look weird on me 🤡” Now that I’ve grown older, I realized that no one was gonna put that eyeliner on me, no one was gonna help me curl my lashes and no one was gonna tell me whether I look a certain way or not, with or without make up. So I might as well just do it. Heck, I still feel like I’m years behind other girls in terms of beauty experience but it’s happening! 😤
