Rather than putting random fences in your pens to keep the grass, you could either plant the grass under the perimeter or place lightning rods on top of the grass. Or better yet, both!

Seconding the recommendation of lightning rods, especially since you'll want to be walking over to your coop every day anyway, so it streamlines the trip (and makes sure you don't forget to clear out your batteries from the rods when they're ready, a mistake I've lost several crops to in the past).

I would put mine under light sources, so it was a bit more aesthetic and easier to replace before I got the wintergrass mod. Having to redo all the fencing around the pen every spring was tedious.

It cannot be overstated how unbelievably powerful stardrop tea is for friendship building. I took Sandy from no hearts to max hearts in exactly one visit (her birthday): first an iridium rabbit's foot and then two stardrop teas. Boom, done. 🤯

YES! The Snake Vertebrae and the final recipes from queen of sauce were the last hurdles on my perfection run, and it took me FOREVER to get them! This update fixes both those issues at once!

I don't put fences, I put hay bales or lightning rods, they don't decay. I don't see why you would want the mushroom log to make red mushrooms, you can't dehydrate them. For the red items Qi quest maybe? Thanks for your video! I went and upgraded my pan as soon as I saw your thumbnail!

i’m so impatient i actually bought stardew for my computer so i could play the update when it came out 😭 i’m a switch player but tbh i might fully switch to pc gaming, it’s been a great experience so far

I did the same. I found it quite hard to get used to using a keyboard and mouse. Makes you realise how strange the controls are sometimes. Almost got my golden clock, so I've gotten quite far.

jellies from ponds are fine for sure, as you also need flounder and midnight carp for seafoam pudding and lava eel is best pond farmable fish as far I know

I think fish smokers as early game money might be overestimated, but may be wrong. The issue is the coal... but if you open the quarry early I could see it maybe.

Yes coal is a big decider early one if you plan on using a lot of items like smokers and furnaces but farming dust sprites and using recycling machines can help with the demand I find :D

It actually only takes overnight for the dehydrator. I always put items in just before sleeping and its done when waking up. So it does not actually take a whole day in game.

You can get a fish smoker within the first 15 days and you never need more than 2 of them until you start using ponds. Everyone is over thinking this. Bring your smokers with you while you fish and put the fish you catch into the smoker. I make 100k in the first month rushing to floor 60 catching the cave slime and then just dumping money into coal and starting the cycle. Put the smokers next to you fish a fish. Put a fish in and repeat. This is only limited by the coal you have and you will be 10 fishing before summer and getting iridium fish and never end up without money.

They are separate items, it just gives you a new scythe.

In my experience the fish jellies ain't super rare, i have caught 3 in a single day a couple times, and they do seem to be more commen on good luck days so it shouldnt be that much of an issue to get plenty of fish smokers
