As someone who stayed and still runs business in Botswana, I love the diamond culture in Botswana. Through Debswana I also managed to attend to Stanford Seed Program back in 2018 which was such an eye opener. Kudos to the people contributing to keep the diamond industry in Botswana sane and blood free. This is what keeps Botswana as such a peaceful country. It's purely amazing. Keep it up! 💯💯💯

I have always wondered why the big KZbinrs seem to skip over Botswana when it seems to be the most stable African country with good governance, good HDI, good GDP per capita, etc. I look forward to learning more about this country, especially as a Sierra Leonean, as we have diamonds as well but were not able to leverage it in the same way as Botswana to develop our country for numerous reasons(our diamonds were easy to find and retrieve so it was a mad rush, Liberian civil war which effected us, corruption, etc)

Tayo Aina - Good job and thank you for visiting Botswana. The hope is that the rest of Sub Saharan Africa realize they can live in harmony with their mineral wealth and allow those minerals to help their economies. Yes it took Botswana a long time to do this and that, but that also serves as education for the rest of Africa. Yes the man running this factory is of Indian origin, again another lesson, probably the person who saw the skill in him is of Indian origin too. It’s there it happens.

Hello Tayo there are no secrete diamond companies in Botswana, these companies are known to the citizens, but the only problem is there are inaccessible to the ordinary man in the streets because they are well protected. You mean synthetic? This is why Botswana needs to diversify the country's income away from diamonds so this isn't a threat. Just look at Russia and Arabia, they're not just diamonds and oil anymore even though we know them for that but they have used their money from these things to become even bigger and better and shining in tne global stage.

Please only feature motswana entrepreneurs or real Afrikans in Botswana moving forward. Notice that Indian guy mentioned that they have been there 6 generations....im certain he has more connections to india than Botswana and im sure his wife or no one in his family has married a Motswana. The man who gave him a start in the industry is also Indian...that is how they operate in their community, they look out for themselves. I hope we black people can learn some lessons from this.

Tayo good work as usual but It would have been nice to see indigenous business people. I am tired of "foreigners" (sixth generation or not ) that have no interest in the indigenous people sharing the wealth of the country with their own people. When these people are in charge rest assured the workers are getting paid PEANUTS and the wealth is for them. Africans we need to wake up! As a black person, you can be 10th generation in India this will never happen
