👍🏼🍻🇦🇺 Original and the best Ark Bar on the beach which was just a few bamboo platforms with cushions on them and the best DJ'S on the island was there since 2004 when I first went to Samui as a 24 y/o .Reggae Bar near the lake was a good time but always finished the night at Green Mango and it looks like it hasn't changed a bit since 2011 when we were last there. Might go for a visit in a few weeks

This brings back some good memories. I had some huge nights at Ark bar back in 2014/15. Wasted a lot of time running around with the bird that worked at the coffee club 😂. Great vid mate 👍.

Seeing that old pic of you and Adam and how you both returned made me think of something because every I know that has gone to Thailand has always returned ( including myself )…so I guess you could say a trip to Thailand is a lot like a potato chip ,.. you can’t just have one !

Wow I haven't been to the Green Mango since 88' it was just a U shaped bar in those days...and I think sand floor I can't remember. I'll have to return for a visit. Cool vids cheers

ArkBAR is a bit like the Balinese beach clubs, like Finns, etc. Bali has really captured that market, but there's no reason why Thailand can snatch a big chunk of it back. It's not really my scene, but it's a huge drawcard for many.

I wanted to go so bad before Covid. I have heard the 2 RLD’S are a shell of what it once was.Sorry LeLe it says ZeZe, outstanding try. Absolutely remember this Ark Bar from 1,000’S of KZbin videos I watched, there was also a hotel attached. If you booked 6 months in advance, you could get a double room for $$50.00US per night (( had to stay at least 2 nights )) I could watch the fire show for hours. Absolutely Loved Every Minute // Absolutely Outstanding From Start To Finish

I arrived I Samui on the first avalible post lockdown flight from Australia and man it was sad to see how badly Samui was affected, I've since been back heaps and it's slowly gaining traction to pre pandemic highs. My first visit to Samui was in the early 90's and man I loved it back then, there were a few bars and dirt roads, over the past 34yrs I've seen Samui change so much.

tutu beach, bamboo beach and alexa beach club in pattaya are similar to ark bar, alexa beach club is of similar quality to ark bar the other two are far more relaxed

I was there in august 2023 pre nice place good to see at least once the ark bar is like the only vibing beach bar if you want to walk the beach there a couple smaller places but nothing as bright as the ark bar and fire show is always very cool however its way to exspansive I spent 12 thousands aussie dollars for a about 13 or 14 days and don't stay at lenny's koh samui the beds are horrific

Green mango was 1 of the first big bars in Chaewang Beach. It's been there for at least 25 to 30 years. 1 good thing your lady drinks beer.

Also mate Samui was absolutely amazing in late 90,s to around 06 08, then it died off a bit like most of Thailand, Great country but it's out priced itself a lot now. What you needed to have a good time 18 to 23 years back you would need at least 3 times as much now especially if your a single man. Like I said great place if not the best in the world but fkn expensive cheers go hard or go home.

@GoneAdrift interesting enough for sure, like I said we all have our experiences. Some blokes learn from them some don't. I,d say I,ve seen and heard a lot over the last 30 years either staying there for extended periods or when just holidaying, mostly about the Ladies and also other things I,ve seen, just incredible and outrageously enjoyable. But that's Thailand. I also lived 2 years in Nah Trang city in Vietnam, worked as a tour guide on the boat trips. Big partying there mate. To many stories. Cheers I,ll be in Thailand in August for a month or so maybe Phuket maybe Pattaya or both, never know we might run in to each other and have a beer seeya.

@TSUNAMICali of course it does, always has although the Aussie use to be only 4 or 5 baht less 15 20 years back. Now it's poor but I can tell you California ain't the only place it's dear mate, try 1 400 ml beer in most local bars in Sydney at least 6 to 7 U.S. I don't know how good you yanks are at drinking beer but that's fkn expensive for Australia. In the tourists areas like bondi it's probably twice that much. Anyway it's like comparing apples to oranges, we live once if you can afford it good luck mate hope you go hard. But just don't spoil the ladies to much otherwise you may as well stay in your own country because you,d no doubt pay the same. I don't really worry too much because I always take enough money to have a great time. Of course a little Thai lingo helps then you never really pay overs. And half the time you wake up with more then 1 lady. You just gotta make them feel comfortable around you and make them laugh they'll always come around then. Oh yeah a little respect goes a long way. Cheers.

I loved Koh Samui right after the pandemic, then I went to Fisherman’s village and saw all the vapid westerners with their Instagram scenes and realized ahh that’s where those people go 🤔 The rest of the island was enjoyable however. I hope they never build that land bridge to the island - it will only benefit the big companies.
