I know this is anacdotal, however , when I was a new Deputy Sheriff for Broward County Florida 1977, the Outlaws never messed with us. Yes , they took over bars and sold guns, controlled the prostitution and marijuana back then , but if they saw us outnumbered and alone on a traffic stop , they ALWAYS backed us up. Nobody else stopped. The leader of the Outlaws was Big Jim Nolan, (convicted years later for killing a Hells Angel Associate) and Big Jim understood if we caught him or his men dirty, we would take action. One weekend, Big Jim was in our county jail for a marijuana charge and the father of a murder suspect , who slaughtered his girlfriend and 6 year old boy, ( I found the bodies) broke INTO the jail with an accomplice and several revolvers, looking to free his son and kill the detention deputies. Big Jim Nolan didn't have too but he took immediate action , and shoved the two deputies into a rear cage out of harm after the father told him to , "step aside " so he could execute both of my friends. The two armed men then pistol whipped Big Jim and almost killed him. The escape was successful and the suspects were later captured in Naples, Florida. The murder suspect was later convicted of double homicide and is serving life without parole. Jimmy C. Daniels. The two deputies who's lives he saved , lived to have long careers and raised beautiful kids. Thanks again Big Jim !

I worked for HCFR for 30 years and have known Jimmy Costa from the day he was hired and knew that he was a 1% . The fact that he is an Outlaw has never interfeared in his ability to do his duty as a firefighter. Captain Costa is an upright man and I am proud to call him my brother firefighter. Some of their members might have record or do crimes just like the rest of the world except since the cops and news find out they belong to the club than they must be criminals because one or two members did something stupid. I know several people in well known "criminal" motorcycle clubs and there is gentleman that is president of one and he single handedly has changed many lives, doesn't do drugs doesn't beat his woman help homeless people and helps people with records or fresh out of jail get jobs and has many succes stories. He is still a dad and a son and brother and friend. His patch doesn't change his demeanor kind heart or good intentions. He is a solid man works hard. Has a life just like all of us. I know this man thru our club . I am proud to call him brother and he had been saving lifes for years .He had no criminal record worse than a traffic ticket or 2 maybe a regular old bar fight . And for that after this tv station aired this He got shot off his motorcycle. No where does a patch read MG for motorcycle gang . ITS. MC FOR MOTORCYCLE CLUB .And while i am at it There was a member of the black pistons mc that got into a bar fight with a member of another mc the ironorder the black pistion let up when the man said he had enough . After he let him go the iron order member went to his bike retrieved a 9mm pistol and shot the black piston who was unarmed 4 times killing him .
