Uncovering The Truth: IRCC Security Screening Delays In Canada

Our IRCC tracker has been stuck on IN PROGRESS for months with supposedly one security check to be finalized. How on earth does it take multiple months to accomplish this in this day and age? Were my wife and her son not screened when they originally set forth at YVR airport in July of 2022. Had to recently renew her work permit due to not receiving PR cards yet. I find this whole process ridiculous with it's timelines (work permit renewal timeline is 128 days when I sent in the info, last week); our application was seen by three separate IRCC offices and not much my local MP office can do for us. No interview request, no further docs need to be submitted. My only conclusion is that the IRCC is a functionally inept federal department.

For the nationals that are usually go through more comprehensive security screening, would you recommend getting most recent police certificate for the application? Or older ones are fine as long as they follow the guideline.

Hi, in their IMM 0706 form, they are asking for several things and would be good if you could explain how deep they go? 1. Phone numbers: Do they check the ph# ownership? do they check calls/text/location history while phone numbers are operated abroad? 2. Messengers like Facebook, whatsapp, viber: Do they check all the chat and call history and images/vdeo texts? Isn't that breach of privacy or personal stuffs? 3. Do they identify if posts are removed from Facebook etc? or if these accounts are made deactive/deleted during this time? Or are they able to access posts that are not public? 4. Do they share information with the US's FBI or any other country's security agencies?

I have applied with my wife and kid to visit my 3 brothers 11/27/2024, my wife and kid got visa but my one stuck in background check, I see many of my friends who applied last month and got visa with in 10 days, why I'm stuck?

hello, I am from china applying study permit for my computer master program in BC canada, it is stucked for a year now , from the IRCC status checking ,it is stuck in information sharing stage. I worked in a foregin company for over 5 years now ,and before also in another foregin tech company about four years. but I was in military for civil service as teaching assistant 20 years ago from 2001 to 2004 , now I submitted the application for leave mandamus in stage 2 to submit evidences , but I am not sure what legal statement to be referred in my arguments , any suggestion for this ?

This delays wont effect applicants those who are from india and Philippines as per my research ..im quite sure im not wrong 🎉
