Trying to diminish the Wolves defense to weaken Jokic’s incredible ability is such a weak move. They’re literally the number 1 rated defense in the league. It’s so easy to both acknowledge the Wolves’ defense, and Jokic’s elevation of the Nuggets’ offense and come to the conclusion that Denver was just better for these last two games. The NBA is obsessed with weakening teams and players’ positions to hand wave away good performances from unfavorable teams and players.

The comedy and tragedy of media push for SGA is that they did a poor job about creating a narative for him. Nikola's stats are even greater but he brought champion team that was DOMINANT 1st seed last year to the 2nd place in their conference. SGA brought the youngest team EVER to the 1st seed. The last year they were a LOTTERY team. They won season series against reigning CHAMPIONS with 3-1. So, one player brought team with mediocre standings to being less mediocre with the help of another all time great. The second one was less dominant than the last year while having the team that was built around him. The third one put a lottery team to the 1st seed with historical tag of "youngest ever". Which of those sounds the most VALUABLE to you? Disclaimer: this was just an example how media should have promote SGA if they were not lazy and uncreative. Jokic gets my vote but I am biased and can't be objective.
