I love this format! You’re onto something here. Even if not head-to-head, I like your detailing specific attributes of the cars: -does it go in a straight line? -how does it corner? Is it stable, does it do the right amount of sliding, or does it just topple-over? -how controllable is it? -durability -most importantly, is it fun? Would love to see reviews call-out these specific dimensions you note in the video. (Notably, I picked up a 16889A-Pro and in a straight line, I find it tends to spontaneously start veering)

I really like that you added comments on the handling.. there's so many videos on youtube about those 2 cars where they get bashed but very few of them mention anything about how they drive. I got ravage after owning couple 144001's and I was kinda shocked how difficult it is to drive. Especially on ice full throttle is not possible without spinning, og A979-B was much like that.

@@karlc9773 I'm saying yes to both. Unless you're asking about motors for a crawler. For this or any speedy type or basher then brushless is far superior. Longer battery life and much better performance. The MJX here for example can handle 3s batteries. With that it would gain 1/3 more power and speed. Don't let the top speeds here between the Grom and other 2 confuse. The difference in acceleration is much pronounced. Check out videos of the Arrma Gorgon on here. It's a great example. I just swapped mine to brushless recently and it's night and day difference using the same 2s batteries. Not to mention it's insane on 3s now. The reason it's so popular is because they are that much better.

@k88kee11 ай бұрын
Hi, I have a 3 Yr old and have the same dilemma. Looking at the MJX the switch is down to 70% only, else full power. Means its too fast for any indoor action. HBX however is a dial that, talking to guys on the HBX Facebook forum, gets the car down to 7 or 8 mph, ie 33%. This was enough to swing it for me, plus Beyond RC really rate the better quality of HBX. However I am a bit sceptical now having seen this vid, never seen the HBX lose a wheel before! 😮

HBX came with front lights which are essential for me at least. Knowing when the car is pointed back to me. If i want to upgrade HBX with the battery, which way is to do it? Should i get more C-rating, more mAh, both or maybe more voltage too? Original is very small capacity so more mAh is a must but what about the other values? I do not want to test 3s, some ones can handle it but not going to risk it.
@skree_fpv43611 ай бұрын
The MJX has lights at the front too. A lightbar to be specific and its brighter than the HBX imo. As for your battery question, more mah will give longer runtime. A fully charged 2S is 8.4 volts so if you want more voltage you need to go to 3S. C rating signifies the maximum continuous output that the battery can maintain. The C value multiplied by the capacity is the maximum continuous current output which is measured in Amps. For example 1000mah x 30c = 30,000 amps. A lot manufacturers exaggerate the C rating they slap on the side of their lipos though, but generally the higher C the better.

We've run HBX 16th scale RCs for a couple years now and have found they wear out a little too quickly. 2 of them eat gears and the mesh just cant be fixed. I was just writing in the other channel a comment how those two the MJX and hbx pro are the best little cars. fast, durable, fun for little money. oil shocks, metal gear, brushless and fast some even run 3S. Those cars are great value for Money and win the 1/16 -1/14 and 1/18 scale. for 1/10 scale the major brands are better of course but cost 3-4 times. it is amazing how the 1/16 scale of MJX can run speed and flips like the big brand cars for only a fraction of the cost so if you dont mind the size or have a low budget you can still get a lot of the experience other than size and durability.

I’m new to sport… I was curious if you could do a 1/18 Rlaarlo brushless conversion? I really like the 1/18 scale.Not sure how to match the electronics. Btw love the channel keep up the good work!

I can vouch for the hyper-go, it has survived my wolfdog shaking the living daylights out of it. Other than replacing four crushed wheels its all good 👍
