just picked up a pair of these for 60 quid. i took them out for a short 8k progression run. at 6 min/km there was a bit of bounce underfoot. at paces below 4:45 min/km down to 4 min/km the shoe pretty much disappeared underfoot. easy transitions, perfect shoe for quicker paces and tempo days. the midsole kind of reminds me of a firmer version of Nike React foam and i'd put this shoe in the same category as the Brooks Hyperion Tempo. "It feels like I'm running on a sofa." - EB21 🤣🤣🤣 Upper from Saucony. Tongue from adidas. Midsole appears a cross between Reebok and Nike. Outsole looks similar to the Pharrell Williams Tennis Hu. As an observation Edd you partially bemoaned the sofa shoes - yet you were fractionally off a PB in the AAA a shoe with a stack height of 39mm. You fix on a style that works for you. You like lower stack shoes, they work for your mechanics- and running style - yet your best race times have come in high stack Nike and AAA shoes. Technology in foams and plates are here to stay, runners want performance, even if they have to pay for it! Bit late to the party but just picked up a pair of these but they need to go back as the UK 13 comes up very small for me. The insole is the "right" length (32 cm) but the shape of the insole and the padding in the heel seems to throw my foot too far forward and got less than a half thumbwidth left and basically crushing my big toe. Watching this again and reading the comments can't see anybody else having sizing problems so am a bit puzzled here. I’d forgotten how much I instantly loved the Boston 8’s (my discovery model), and the subject of this vlog looks like it’s of similar ilk. About the technology, would it be useful on the treadmill? The implementation of the tech is really good, though those without a footpod perhaps will find it an advantage. My pair finally arrived, along with the Velociti SE. I managed to pick both up heavily discounted, so I couldn't resist. The midsole is identical between the two, so the only difference is the Warp upper on the Wind and the knitted upper on the SE.The Wind is the better of the two, if only because of the Warp upper. The SE is also a good shoe, but the knit upper is less supportive due to its stretchy nature. The Warp upper doesn't give as much, so the support and lockdown is better. The Flow midsole is slightly softer than that of the Curry 8, but still very firm. I liked the Wind so much that I picked up a second colorway. I'm on the fence regarding the SE. Never had much interest in UA shoes before but I’ll put this on my list of shoes to try. The price tag is a bit high though for a non plated shoe without massive amounts of cushioning. I know it has the tech but I’ve got a Stryd pod and Garmin running dynamics so I’d rather lose the tech and knock a few £ and grams off. For £140 I’d pick up another pair of Rocket X instead.
@EDDBUD3 жыл бұрын
I understand your reluctance in relation to the stryd pod. Tempted to get one. Can you convince me? 😊
@garrymunro68813 жыл бұрын
@@EDDBUD I’m a terrible salesman. I usually try my best to put people off so they don’t blame me if they don’t like it😂. The Stryd pod was an impulse buy and I’m someone who likes a graph. I’ve not switched to training by power so whether it’s worth the cost is debatable but what I like is the accurate live pace readings and accurate distance. I like using it on windy days or on hilly routes when running to a set pace is hard. If I have to do intervals on a less than ideal route it helps keep my effort consistent. On easy days it’s nice to check to make sure I’m not pushing too hard. I’ve yet to really see how the other data like leg spring stiffness or ground contact time can be used to improve my training but it makes a pretty chart.

I will never buy a shoes with internal tech. Most "recycled" shoes are just burned or put into landfill, so electronics + some sort of battery would be horrible.

It is TTS in length, but you might need to go up a half-size for foot volume. I have low volume size 10 feet, and the upper is very snug, especially in the toe guard area. I had to trim the nails on my big toes to wear these.

No matter how good the Velocitii could be, 160€ for a daily/tempo trainer is a hard pass for me. The invincible and the Saucony Speed cost me the same, the Reebok Run Fast is 130€ - 20/25% discount and I love that shoe. Under Armour dropped the ball really hard with the price choice. Much respect for you and your hard work but I cannot agree with a shoe with such an outraging price getting such a high value score (specially when we don't know anything about its durability). Same opinion on the Infinity and even with the invincible which I love. Sad to see companies pushing every day for even more ridiculous prices on their shoes , expending huge amount of money on absurd marketing campaigns (project fearless, this Velocitii offering ) and getting away with murder. I hate to be negative but I'm getting more and more frustrated with this earth-credit escalation .
@EDDBUD3 жыл бұрын
It appears the price conversion is different, here in the uk the price is very good for such a shoe. Also, tough to review or comment on the value of it if you have not worn it? The Hyperion tempo is the same price and offers far less.
@victor_At3 жыл бұрын
@@EDDBUD The hyperion is in my opinion another highly overpriced shoe, specially comparing it with the soon to be released Puma Liberate (110$ and I hope 110€). And yeah, it's impossible to determine value for a new shoe based on an new foam but I always understand value as an average of usability and how good it perform on its roles, price and finally durability. Here we have good versatility and performance, bad price and unknown durability and yet the shoe gains one of your better possible scores. For me a 2.7-3.0 would be something like a Floatride Energy 3: an almost perfect shoe on every department with versatility, durability and great price. It's your channel and I love coming here everyday, don't get me wrong but I bet many people think like me on this one with that price tag of 160$/160€. The price is so crazy
