@@TheToughGuysTV It feels good. I ordered another one tho...M/L. The L/XL is big and feels loose on my face ( I have an average face lol). It's very breathable tho and does not pull your ears forward like a dumbo. And just an FYI....don't put it in the washing machine with detergent and let it air-dry. I had to take it off today b/c the smell of Tide was overpowering and gave me a headache. Just rinse it under warm water...squeeze with a paper towel, and It dries in no time. I recommend it! Just a thought here as you are concerned about the vents, I use a bandana over my vented mask, that way anything I breath out is slowed down by the bandana, but the vents still allow for easy breathing.
@TheToughGuysTV4 жыл бұрын
Good note there! I've thought about trying that as well. I was able to snag some vent covers from RZ mask finally, it definitely is a different experience wearing their masks with the valves closed that's for sure.
@flitsies4 жыл бұрын
@@TheToughGuysTV One thing I noticed is how much condensation is captured by the bandana from the vents in winter, its a lot so much the bandana gets saturated if you wear the mask for an hour or so. So I found without it all that would be pushed into the air and potentially spreading anything you might have.

@@TheToughGuysTV Oh and one other thing I with these valve masks, make sure to test the valves cos I bought a load of these sports valves and they all leaked, I believe the normal valves are better as they have more support to the flap. But just do a suction test on the valves before trusting them for your own safety. Simple to do just stick your mouth on the inner ring and stuck in, if aielr comes in the valves leaks if not then it maybe food.

Hey, as a doctor, this isn’t all that bad. Yes, vent arent great- you can still spread a respiratory virus like SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19). From the medical side, the nose and chin parts are ok- nice seal but fogging suggests air leaks. Behind-the-ear mounting (compared to around-the-head) is less effective at keeping the mask strongly pressed to your face; at least without being so tight, u lose your ears.. Mostly, it’s the material; there is some but truly very little protection against breathing virus particles in. I truly think the route to take is a shell made by many and all use some small selection of pre-formed/sized filters that have the needed N95 filtering properties. I haven’t gone through your videos too much so I’ll apologize in advance if you already spoke to these items. Thanks again for the video.
@TheToughGuysTV4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment!! I personally don't expect the mask to protect me - I wear it to try and stop as many particulates from exiting my mouth and spreading to others. At least that's been the reason behind wearing a mask in my opinion - which conflicts with most people who are spreading hate on the topic "Masks don't protect you!'' .. it's like, yes I know that, I'm trying to help lessen my ability to spread it if I'm asymptomatic. Also - the bottom line is that some people have to wear a mask in order to go to work due to regulations, so regardless I am trying to find good options. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and share some good information here - as there has been a ton of hate and negativity. Thanks again for your support!
@mingchi18554 жыл бұрын
@@TheToughGuysTV Whether it protects ppl wearing it is always questionable and depends on people and masks. A lot of variables are involved. And sanitizing hands matters before and after you put on and take off masks. Too many ppl don't wear masks correctly or wear a really thin one so they did not protect either party at all. Normal high filter masks will give you slightly more protection on the droplet but not the virus. N95 level definitely protects you but you have to wear it correctly, and not many ppl have N95s in stock. Not to mention wearing N95 for too long will make you feel dying (too hard to breathe through it).

@@TheToughGuysTV One piece of paracord and a cord lock. The mask needs sewn side seams. Cut the elastic earloops and pull them out of the seams. Lay the mask down flat and have the paracord in an upside down U shape. Feed each end down each side seam. Put a cord lock on the two free ends. Center the mask midway along the length of the upside down U shape. This will give you a loop above the mask and the cordlock with two ends below the mask. I don't work for UA nor do I have any issues with them or any other of their products that I own but this is my honest review of this mask. I tried it on a 5k walk, a 20k bike ride, a 10k indoor row and a sit down and watch tv mode. At £26 inc p/p from postage outside the UK, this is still NOT good value for money. It does look good when it is fresh out of the packet but this soon changes with use. Sizing, I measured up as XXL but ordered XL and this was still not a perfect fit so I got an adjustable band to put around the ear straps to secure it in place while moving. Without this band, there is no way that this would sit on my face without sliding downwards, with the band, it sat perfectly but the ear straps are a problem. The ear straps are comfortable but flimsy, very flimsy and I do not know how long they will last. Breathing through the mask is easy and you can talk with ease and as my need for oxygen increased I was able to breath heavy but it was not perfect - I guess that no mask is and I have five different masks from a decent N95 downwards. I wear glasses and neither my normal or reading glasses, nor my cycle glasses were able to cope without steaming up. I even tried anti-mist spray on my specs and they still could not cope once I got hot. The material of the mask is much better than a simple cloth mask and better than a standard medical mask - and UA make zero claims about it being a mask designed to deal with COVID-19 BUT as an exercise mask, sorry UA but this is a massive fail. I have a resting heart rate of around 50bpm and an aerobic heart rate of around 160bpm and I found that this mask could not handle much more than a 100bpm from me before I started to feel warm under the mask and although it wicks away moisture, my face still felt damp and uncomfortable after about 30mins of any exercise. I wanted to sing UA praises and I have ignored most of the other reviews in my writing of this review but the bottom line is, UA need to go back to the drawing board and rethink this one as it is massively overpriced and I would say that £12-£15 would be a better price point for this and although I appreciate that you have R&D costs to recover, I could not recommend this mask to anyone unless they wish to use it while sitting down watching tv in a crowded room. I started off this review and trial with an open mind but feel that I would be lying to a future buyer of this mask if I did not give an honest opinion of my own personal experience with a product that I purchased and was not given to test review. I hope this review (if printed) is helpful to all that read it.

Honest question - you seem very motivated about this information so why not make a video and put it online? I only ask because if you’re truly wanting to share these notes / this knowledge then that’s the real way to do it - even simply done. I shoot everything with my iphone, and edit with a $20 app on my iPad - so for example, my own content isn’t highly produced. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here - I’ve never had it dog my sunglasses or safety glasses once, and when wearing it on a bike (both real and exercise) I haven’t had any issues with breathing - now that’s a feeling and I’m not hooked to equipment of course. Compared to other options out there I’m not sure how it’s a failure.. I’ve tried so many masks and nothing else works as well for extended use in the heat. Thanks again! ✌🏻
@efmax99544 жыл бұрын
Happy to share with you. I have been trying so many different masks and had hoped that this would be the one for me.. thanks for the opportunity to share. For me, the reasons I say it is a failure "for me", is that it is seriously overpriced for what it does and what it claims to do did not hold up for me.. the glasses fogging up is a big deal for me cos I get hot and I need to wear my glasses all the time but the actual fit over the face started off really good and in yet to no time it was not able to hold its composure, especially the upper half over the nose. I wish they could have made a strap that fit around the back of the head as this would overcome quite a few issues but they do need to rethink the whole "doesn't fog your glasses claim". I posted on your video as you already have a following and I was happy to support your efforts as no one really looks at stuff I post up and what I do is on a totally different level of interest, so I posted on yours and a few other people to lend my subscription support.. best wishes in what you are doing.

All good points and I appreciate you taking the time to share it!! Was thinking you are very good with articulating your thoughts here - which is rare to find nowadays - I always appreciate good discussion!! The strap around the head would be a nice addition for a v2 no doubt especially with exercise in mind! I really wanted to like this mask. Maybe it’s because of the price. Unfortunately, it’s not too effective at keeping you cool. I sweat so much more in this than my other masks with a carbon filter. Also, it needs adjustable ear straps. The large size fit my ears fine, but was loose around the face. My wife’s medium size fit my face, but pulled my ears out like Dumbo. I’ll stick with my regular masks. Back to the drawing board, UnderArmour.

As of right now it’s the masks from Vistaprint. They’re 2 layers of polyester & cotton. The filters they offer are pretty thin, so I just got some carbon filters separately off Amazon. The masks are large enough to cover the nose & chin, and will hold the larger filters. The ear straps are also adjustable, and there’s a moldable nose bar.

Unfortunately the el cheapo is what I wear when it’s going to be hot and I’m going to be active. Save your money

The mask is really breathable as described but the only problem I found with it is that it doesn't really get a grip on the nose. The mask falls off a lot. It falls off when you talk, laugh, or scream, so I had to return it.

Hey all, did you know that you can make filters to fit into the ported vents so nothing gets out as well as nothing is getting in. When you purchase filters many come with the air hole filled in as well, so you can just leave them in or take (1) of your filters and make small circular filters for the ports with that. I have one of those type of masks that has the ear loops as well as the velcro for the back. Just thought everyone should know this because NO ONE is mentioning this solution for those type of masks. Later all and stay both safe and virus free.

No doubt the heat can be bad up there, and a few years ago I did live there for a couple of years hanging insulation. However, most of the rest of my life, I've lived about 30 minutes northeast of New Orleans, and hung insulation all over that area for years. Even though before covid, it was supposed to be required for insulators to wear masks, not me, or any other insulators I ever worked with, were ever able to do so in the summer. Which is about ten months out of a year. And at the time, I worked with a company that was worldwide and very serious about regulations. I'm just saying, it would be interesting to see how masks stacked up down hear nowadays. And don't get me wrong, Dallas' heat ain't nothing to sneeze at by any means. Anyway, nice review man. If someone up there can work in hard labor out in the heat, then there's hope for those down here to do so, lol.
@TheToughGuysTV3 жыл бұрын
The only downside with this mask from what I’ve learned in the comments here is that if you do sweat a ton, and it does get saturated it’s really tough to breath in it so keep that in mind. Insulation work is hard enough not in blazing heat, so my hats off to you - hard work no doubt! They need more solutions for masks in the heat outside of Covid, which is why your comment is so important. Hopefully this stuff has pushed companies to invest more in this technology! Check out my Dewalt mask video too, it might be a solution in the heat as well. Thanks!

@@TheToughGuysTV They work as advertised but they only come in a sky blue color So if you want that cool factory you might have to spray paint them like I did. You can see the moisture build up on the caps when you remove them
@seerjay22884 жыл бұрын
So the question is it effective from transmitting the virus. There was a recent duke university study going over effectiveness of different type of masks. Some masks like gaiters are actually worse than not wearing a mask at all as they can make droplets into aerosolized particles which would make virus more transmittable. One small test you can do to kind of check effectiveness is to see if you can blow a candle out through the mask. If you can, then the mask is not effective. Makes mask more comfortable as it would be more breathable, but would not prevent transmission. I am trying to see if anyone has tested this as you can not return the mask if opened and you can not try them on.
@TheToughGuysTV4 жыл бұрын
I feel zero breath through the mask even when I blow really hard. When I really get going, I feel air come out around my nose - between the mask and my skin, not through the mask. I didn't show this in the video, so I guess take my word if you'd like.

I got 2 for my wife & me. The large fits comfortably around my ears, but is too loose around my face. The medium fits around my face well, but pulls my ears out like Dumbo. It needs adjustable ear loops. Moreover, I sweat considerably more in this than any other mask I’ve used. There is zero cooling effect. Finally, the chin is too long & rigid. Every time I open my mouth slightly wide, it pulls off my nose. It’s not even close to being worth the $30.
