I oddly agree with this. I understand it might sound counterproductive. But this is how you winter protect vehicles up north, with the salted roads especially. I deal with the opposite in Florida, winters are cool and non humid, we're about to go back to the opposite. A bunch of salt and heat!

Us canadians wish for salt free winters! But it is what it is, only can try to protect our cars as best as we can. I never thought of salt being an issue dueing your summers, but make sense since your so close to the ocean!
