I'm sorry but having men walk around on icey wings to clear snow and ice is an unacceptable risk!! Get a bucket rig and deice....saving money while risking someone's life and limb is wrong

IDK, at the point that you have the guts to fly 80 year old tin in temperatures that freeze pee before it can reach the ground, walking on the wing probably doesn't feel like an OSHA violation... which is irrelevant, because they're in Canada's Northwest Territories -- the equivalent in that part of the world is some dude saying, "Buddy, don't do that, you'll die, eh," in an urgent but subdued voice.

They are not checked out for small single engine - they are multi rated before they can get a type rating on the DC-3 JR

Careful offering to die to stay in the plane. I fell off the wing of my Piper Arrow, I used my head to block my fall. I am not too far from dead. I said there is no way my own Arrow would kill me when I lived through so many company planes.

My co worker Stan slid off an icy wing of a C141 onto tarmac on the ramp. He bruised his buttocks but didn't break anything. He was 47 and I was 24. We kept working. I didn't laugh. It's slippery on curved wings.
