I couldn't bear to watch the show but the book was probably King's meanest novel, regarding what he did to the characters in that one.

That's for sure! They did what they usually do with the the shows when adapting them to national TV. Watered down.

@@books_2_movies Yes, it seems to almost always be a bad idea for regular networks to adapt. I heard a rumor that Mike Flanagan (Midnight Mass, etc.) might be adapting The Dark Tower. His work seems so much like visual novels, I have some pretty high optimism regarding the thought. But who knows?
