Up until you went into football, we lived similar lives but in different locations. I was raised in Pocatello Idaho, so my brothers and I were treated to a fishing trip to Henry's lake. We had a cabin on the north shores, and Dad would check every son, to see if he was strong enough to paddle that heavy old flatbottom boat across the lake. Like yourself and Norman Mailer, fishing was my childhood, and almost every day of it. I lost my father about 24 years ago,...but like Norman, those waters still haunt me.

I resonate with this so much. The time I get to spend with my son fishing, golfing, and watching Lions games can't be matched, ever. Time with loved ones is priceless. I may not know a ton but I know that. Won't ever make the mistake of underappreciating those opportunities/moments. Great piece.

Come ice fishing up here frank I have a 6 person ice shanty I'm 6"3 330 size 16 4 e shoes but we both can fit in there we're only the size as 5 guys probably we can catch smelt perch lake trout Pike etc
