Thank you. I saw that Mazda listed two separate horsepowers for the turbo and you explained that is the fuel used that makes the difference.

I'm still not clear on this aspect, since higher octane does not add more HP to an engine's output... The claims of 25-30 more HP just by using higher octane fuel does not add up

Thank you I was confused as to why Mazda doesn't have any signage to differentiate the turbo and NA engines, this helps a lot

In 2021 they finally have added a turbo badge. It was a little confusing until now.

The wife bought a 2021 Mazda 6 Grand Touring back in August because her 2006 Mazda 6 Grand Touring (3.0L) has lethargic acceleration, which in my opinion makes it a little unsafe trying to merge onto highway traffic. So far she has no complaints even though she only put 3000 miles on it. She wasnt thrilled at having to go to a 4 cylinder after being in a V6 for so long, but she is not disappointed with the 2.5T SkyActive-G engine.

My Mazda 3 2015 skyactiv 2L engine consumes 6.8L/100km, well done Mazda.

Big thanks for the video! Maintenance-wise do both engines still share the same type and quantity of motor oil and air filters?

The turbo uses 5W30, the non turbo 0W20. They both use around the same amount of oil.

Great video,, can you do the same idea with mazda CX30? Because I really want to know the air flow entrance, to know the water level that the car can handle in floods for example.

Jonathan Sewell I prefer the regular one.. because I live in a country that provides the 2.0L only. So I think the regular 2.5L would be more similar. If doing a video is hard for any reason, then provide me with an article that points out the air intake place in the cx30 please ☺️. Thank you in advance 😍😍.

Any idea if there’s more than 227 hp when using 91 octane versus 93? Some states only have 91 and I would assume it is at least better than the 227 hp you get on 87.

I think 91 will get the 250 also. Mazda just lists premium fuel, so 91 would be premium. We just have 93 here.

higher octane fuel alone does not add more HP to an engine's output, and I cannot find anyone who can clarify exactly how these engines are getting 25-30 extra HP output in a way that makes sense

I’ve head of a few problems with cylinder heads, but I’m not sure if they’re more common on turbo engines or nonturbo engines.

I dont know why Honda only 2.0 turbo charged offfer 251hp same as Mazda 2.5 turbo. I though mazda 2.5 turbo could offer higher hp Can some one explain?
