Wow! This really blew my mind. Was recently in Bay City a couple days ago, and was there 6 months ago. It's a wonderful city to visit, with a vibrant downtown area. Checked out more of the suburbs a couple days ago and felt safe everywhere we went. I'm sure it has its bad spots like every other city in the world, but very clean and lively. Thank you for sharing these videos. This video in particular blew my mind seeing how Bay City's downtown was just 7 years ago. Crazy.

Stephen Leslie....this was in our first season of the show back in 2010. There have been so many more changes since (as you saw). We need to go back!

@@UTRMichigan2010 I agree! I think the Bay City is a beautiful city with a lot of hidden gems (and even more churches and bars lol) Check out the Battleship that has been turned into a museum on the river. It has a lot of great history. One of the volunteers worked on that ship during the 70's and gave my dad and I a personal tour of some of the areas that were blocked off. Plus it has an actual flag that was at Pearl Harbor the day of the attacks. I'm a Canadian and was moved just by seeing it.

I live in Bay City now I like it. And there are a ton of churches. And the north part of Bay City is different. Bay City motors is still there but I don't see people going in there anymore.

It’s so weird seeing people talk about my hometown (even if this video is old, lol) the towns history is really fun to study, and was something most kids learned about in school. I grew up in one of the historical districts and my neighbours actually had an old mineshaft under their house.

I grew up in Bay City, went to Handy High School and graduated in the 1970's. I used to walk down by the river quite often.

I am from Bay City. I have been raised there for my whole life and they missed quite a lot of awesome and interesting things that is in Bay City. I am also now in the military and this made me miss how much fun my friends and I would have just walking around downtown and reading about all the great stuff that happened in the past.

They were only looking at the fancy shot, not the ghetto a few roads from down town. They just want it to look good, and a lot of aspects of town sadly are in not so nice areas

Oh you should have went to Beaver's Pub you can eat outside or inside. It's a little pricey but the food is good.

Bay city was better in the 70's. Bay city has no industry other than food, bars, retail stores. Since the 80's there has been 40,000 familys moved out of bay city. And getting so many condos its ugly to the riverfront. All bay city management is doing is fixing up the east side but nothing for the west side of the riverfront. And toll briges naming liberty bridge and independence bridge. Bay city keeps raising taxes to cover the taxesthat industry paid to supported this town. Ive live here 60 years and Bay city is getting worse.

they missed so much awesomeness about bay city. the underground city, the whole other side of the river...they just talked about a small portion. Doesn't do my city justice. yeah it's a small city, the river and bay aren't very clean but it's an amazing city!

While I appreciate this video, some of these buildings are abandoned and its sad. Downtown has improved so much lately, but there is still a ways to go. Mill End would be an example one and the building at 0:29 located on Center and Washington is example 2. Glad the blight Brownhoist buildings were torn down recently! Surprised that Midland St wasn't mentioned, or the Phoenix beer that's brewed here.

100%, Bay City is growing and thriving, especially downtown. I love all of our new high rise buildings in uptown. Bay City is really returning to its former glory that it had in the 50s and 60s.

...i live in auburn its a small town in bay city but i go to downtown bay city all the time and these people make a pretty broken city look really good...honestly the water is polluted, its a little more dangerous than out in the country, and i wouldn't walk down the street alone in the daytime but these guys may even be able to make saginaw look good and that place is just dangerous almost everyone there wants to take your wallet and blast you, but these guys just may be able to attract peopl
