maddiebelike I'm so happy you commented! I'm definitely still around, just haven't had time to record a video! I highly recommend starting by taking lessons from a teacher. The harp is something that is very difficult to learn on your own, and there aren't many videos online that can teach you like for piano and guitar. Usually you don't need your own harp to start taking lessons, because you can learn on their's, but you'll eventually need to get your own so that you can practice during the week. Most people start learning on a lever harp, they're small and light and not nearly as expensive as a pedal harp. I recommend buying a used one, because they are pricey! Also, I'm not sure how old you are, but sometimes in middle school or high school you can ask your school orchestra director (if you have an orchestra) if they have a harp position. Many schools don't, but if they do, you can join as a beginner and stay afterschool to use the school harp for practice. If there's no harp at your school and you can't afford a used one, then there are some people who rent harps out because their child isn't using it or they're off at college. Good luck and I really hope you are able to follow your dream!! Please feel free to contact me any time!

i said it before: humble and good - i listened to many harp players, most of them sound very clear and brilliant, but you have a soft tone and bring the harp to a state in which it seems to hover and float along - love it!!!
