Under water GoPro veiw of a Dungeness crab going in a trap

Just messing around with my new Gopro, I figured I would throw it in the ocean to see if it works. Not a lot of crab action but a good tune. Thanks for watching

Newport Oregon, I zip tied a chunk of sheet metal to the bottom of the trap and used the suction cup mount on the gopro, glad you you liked it!

Thanks for the tip, I mounted a piece of sheet metal for the gopro to attach to, so maybe that will help. Have a good one

Thanks, this was last Sunday and it was slow I think we got 15 and we had to work for them. But, it was enough for dinner and a little more for the freezer. Take care!

If you have an extra case or two you can put a small headlamp in the second case and use that for a light. I have used that at about 20 fathoms and that has worked out fairly well. There are also some aftermarket cases that are good deeper.

Thanks! We use chicken, mostly because of seals and sea lions. They soak for about 20 minutes usually, this one was only 10 minutes, so the video would be epically long. Have a good one!

Good job man. that was awesome footage. I tried crabbing with my grandpa when we went down to Maryland in the Chesapeake Bay. I live in Pennsylvania. Crabbing sucks this year.

Don't know if u know this but if u strap 2 pieces of bare rebar that is not plastic coated inside the cage, something has to do with the metal that the crabs love, try it I guarantee you will double your catch. Great vid super cool.
