The first few videos that I watched I knew there was something, I didn’t know exactly what it was until I rewatched them and few more. One of your videos was worded with strength and hope, I knew then that you and I have a friend named Bill. It is a sobering thought to know that in the tree business we are not alone. Hope this made sense, keep having fun, I will be on the lookout for more productions from your awesome channel

Ignore the trolls, your vid's are extremely well produced, informative and entertaining. Comparisons with other producers are meaningless. 23k folk love you enough to subscribe. Do what you do, when you want. No-one else combines decent indie music, video effects and the skill of your craft in such an enjoyable format. Your daily blog type vid's are informative and show really good examples of reasoning and safety. Thank you (and your team) for all that you so freely give us.

If, and it's a big if August was to resort to clickbait and sensationalism I'm sure he would garner more sub's. However it would be temporary as those who love his humility would probably bail out. If he ever became as phoney as Wranglerstar it would be a massive shame. Sub's will never be the measure of the man. If you followed how much love surrounded That Chipper Guy in his hours of need then you'll know sub's aren't friends, sub's just mean folk who'll watch you flounder. Positive posters , the guys who keep their words soft and their criticism constructive are the folk who matter. My life is better in no small measure for having found this channel. Long may it continue.

August, buddy, regarding the haters, I once heard someone say that you will never be criticized or hated by someone who has more going on than you. And it's so true. The worst comments I've ever gotten were almost always from people who had zero videos on their channel. They've never put anything out into the world, never opened themselves up to that kind of criticism, but they'll tell you how bad your stuff is. I try to empathize with them as best I can, I mean, they must be in a really dark place to just go around spewing hatred. It has nothing to do with you, it is a reflection of what they have going on inside. You just keep on doing your thing, sending love into the world, making videos that benefit our industry. Peace brother. "Hater's gonna hate, ain'ters gonna ain't." And painters gonna paint. Patrick

What I like most about August and his crew is their use of PPE. Even in the bucket Damien was tied in with a safety harness. All you have to do is read TCIA Magazines Accident Reports every month to see the number of tree people who fall out of buckets to their death. The Sena gear in their helmets makes communications so much better and the job site that much safer. The one thing I wish is that August would do a video on what it takes to get a tree company up and running and the constant maintenance on the equipment and how all of that takes time and money. A lot of viewers just see guys doing their jobs in trees not realizing what it takes for that to happen. I am sure all of the arborists would love to hear some of the things August learned that made his life better on his way to becoming a successful arborist company.
@obxkoastie81705 жыл бұрын
Will...Please read my comment. I know and you know and August's crew knows but read TCIA Accident reports every month to see the number of people who don't. There is always one or more getting thrown or knocked or just fall out of a bucket

Hello again, August! It’s called kicking the cat. The story goes, the guy has a bad day at work, gets kick after kick, comes home and kicks the cat. That’s not telling it well, but it’s the same difference. Either way, the cat gets kicked. That time, it ended up that you were that cat. The way you handled it showed mercy and temperance, forbearance. “Do unto others” can be hard, and you aced it. That man had a bad day and needed a friend’s mercy. I also believe that some people will just never be pleased, no matter what. They’re not happy unless they’re unhappy. They also have to be right, which means that everybody else has to be wrong, including you. It’s a beautiful world God has made, and trees are one of the very best things in it. That makes room for tree people! (You Were Made For This, Remember?!)

"Word are like a bullet from a gun. . . . You don't unshoot a bullet." - August Hunicke. From this moment on, do I have your permission to use them words freely, or must I cite you as the author? In my earlier days, I often immediately came to conclusions, about matters that I knew "all about"! Afterwards, often I would discover, that I had not been well enough informed, to draw any positive conclusions, let alone to make them public. Now, with age comes some additional wisdom, but I still need more!

Everyone is different for a reason. No two people are meant to do anything exactly the same way. August and Buckin both do great work, make a living, and have a life they seem to enjoy. Both in the same industry but completely different styles of work. That's the way it should be. Without that people would all be no different than robots.

I learned the hard way to never make negative comments about anyone's videos. It only offends the people who are fans. And this applies to comments meant to be constructive. Few people really appreciate any type of criticism.
@TrevorDennis1005 жыл бұрын
I've typed a good few KZbin comments and then hit the cancel button, and not because what I'd written was necessarily wrong, but more because it might have been hurtful to the recipient. We have our points of view, like Buckin' Billy Ray is kind of crazy, or Mike (Dirt Perfect) is accident prone and makes what appear to be questionable decisions, but both of those people are as nice and kind, and generous as you'd find, so why be unkind to them? I personally find your style of editing entertaining and enlightening, and I enjoy hearing your reflections on life almost as much as the tree felling because they are heart felt, and intelligent. You're never going to please all of the people all of the time, so it is probably not worth trying to justify your editing style because you are who you are, and that works fine for most of the people who follow this channel. If you did not enjoy the process, you'd stop uploading content, and that would leave a hole in forty odd thousand people's lives.

Nothing pisses me off more, than being on the job site and realizing you underbid a job. It almost feels like you're being taken advantage of. Then you tend to want to rush through the job, and that's when accidents like to happen.

It feels like you're being taken advantage of? Really? By whom? I just feel stupid that I missed something when I quoted the job and have nobody to blame but me. August,, found your channel today. Spent the better part of it watching your video's. First I learned a lot about tree cutting. In my past, was given a chainsaw in the military and told to go forth and CUT.. Not well and managed to not get killed, did get slapped by many a tree going in to the chipper. In my day once they hit the drum, they shot in and lord help those who didn't pay attention. Second, I enjoy your honesty, being real, not perfect but seem to be a real great human. Sir, continue to be YOU, enjoy what you do both in your work life, video and most importantly with your God and family. The last two will be all that truly matters in the end.

The separation of social media causes folks to blow off without considering what they're really saying about themselves. They probably wouldn't say the same things in person. You're doing just fine with the vids, they are both entertaining and educational. Keep to your owm MO, you've got a better perspective on what to do and how than a lot of others I've met.

Hey, stumbled upon your channel, sorry That I came in on a sad note from you regarding a couple of negative responses about your videos. You handled the responses professionally. Take it with a grain of salt. Do what you do and move on. Hope you get the dog out of doggie jail.👍🏼

Reading through all the comments and nobody is asking about the crane you just bought?! Talk about a game changer. I run a 10 ton crane for my crew and the boom may only be 57 feet but man that thing works wonders when you got limbs that are in difficult places or logs that are huge. Post the crane guy I’m curious haha

Keep up the videos man, don't let people discourage you. I bid tree work for our family tree company for a living. It's a competitive and difficult industry to be in.
